Photographed and ridden for the owner. Bit of a back story to this bike. 

Mr Pete as I call him has owned this bike from new. He toured Europe and rode it on track a few times until it got parked a few years ago. It has just over 30k miles on the clock and is pretty much original with the associated patina. He turned it into a Ron Haslam replica and even got the man himself to sign the passenger seat cowl. It’s recently had a new screen due to the old one cracking and going opaque so the Ron Haslam lettering will be replaced on the screen at some point. 

Pete doesn’t ride anymore but wanted to see this bike run again. It hasn’t been ridden for over five years. The last time it got used was for a sprint meeting on the Channel Islands where he lives. He wants me to race it. 

I rode it last week around Snetterton. See previous posts for short videos. Coincidentally the same circuit where Pete raced it once, back in the day. It ran well and was plenty fast enough on the Bentley straight. Top gear and 130mph on the clock without any stress. The suspension and brakes leave a lot to be desired and the beast took some pulling up to get it set for the corners. It wallowed a bit on the long right hander of Corum but with a bit of suspension work and tweaking all round it may be feasible to race this again.

Engine fitted! Just trial fitting stuff for now, will need to properly assemble carbs, linkage, install 123-distributor, have some serious help with the electrics, etc etc.. there's lots of stuff still to do. Anyhow, really pleased with the style the engine is getting. I would have liked to go for even cleaner look (no fuel pump, heater hoses, etc) but decided not to sacrifice every function over form.
