ok basic faerie rules >:)

1. don't eat or drink their food without permission or you'll be indebted to them

2. don't say thank u bc they take offense to that they prefer smth like "i appreciate your (adjective? here)

3. I'm sorry is a Weird One. don't say that say like "my apologies" or "pardon me" bc they take things very literally

4. a faerie is bound to their word. if they promise to get u a cookie they have to get u that fucking cookie no matter what. even if it kills them

5. they'll find loopholes to weasel out of deals, which goes with the BE Careful About What U Say

6. they actually don't like the term faerie, they prefer Good Folk/Good Neighbors/ Lord's and Ladies (I ignore this one bc how are u gonna describe a faerie without saying the word faerie)

Ah, now I remember better! I love absolutely all of these, though it does bring a few questions to mind. Mostly on the 'why' side of things. Like, why do they have such rules? Is it a societal thing? An instinctive thing? Did a fae one time just decide to make a bunch of rules, and then fae history kinda accepted it?

The third one is honestly one I live by, LOL. I never saw 'Im sorry' as an apology; just a statement of how one is feeling guilt. I still do accept it as an apology sometimes, though, since nowadays people do mean it as an apology. Maybe fae are autistic? I mean, I certainly take things literally!

402 is the main character of Lab Rat and she's kind of based off of Chell from portal the only reason she wants to escape is out of spite she's so fucking done with everything

she's gotten used to the Horrors and she's decided that she wants to horrify them back, in the first chapter she beats a TV head with giant metal claws with a metal pipe, she's not that strong but god DAMN she's pissed

happy STS! tell me about your WIPS!

Oh, but there’s so many (too many, really, but I cannot stop). Okay, here you go. Tried to keep it shortish. If you’d like a longer ramble about a particular wip I’d be happy to oblige.

So the current main (aka hyperfixation) is Masks and Trust! It’s a superhero romance drama between an ex-hero and ex-villain. It’s not all about their relationship, though, but both characters as a whole. I have a draft of Celeste when she first becomes a hero and multiple at different points of the relationship (Celeste’s reveal, Vega’s, aftermath talk) and a couple what-if pieces <.<

I have a collection of myth retellings that are connected, too, focusing on Calypso, who is both Davy Jones-Calypso and Ogaygia-Odysseus-Calypso. There’s one focused on her and Davy Jones (which is a two-parter as I’m doing both their povs), a Scylla-monsterization retelling in which her and Calypso fall in love while she’s still a nymph, and the creation of Davy Jones Locker, which was formed decades before the man was born.

There’s Soulwood, too, about a magic forest and the girl who guards it. A town is constructed in the area, from which a human girl wanders over and they fall in love. It doesn’t exactly go well.

To Deal With A Death is another, in which Lila makes a deal with a Soul Keeper (think reaper) for her blade, something that’s forbidden to do (and deadly for whoever holds it, but Lila doesn’t die), and does something… very big with it.

I feel like I’m forgetting one. Am I bad wip wrangler? Idk. I can’t think of it off the top of my head.

I’ve been thinking about the Davy Jones wip though, lately. I’ve been trying to work on the Calypso works in order (which is funny because they all came to being in reverse) so they can be more coherent as a whole, but I miss him. Might work on that some soon,,

eden. literally one of the hardest characters i have ever tried to write because she is so stoic PLUS fairies apparently have a language barrier. she’s mean but also not really mean??? make it make sense queen. she is the reason i dropped the fall over the forests edge

The Pocket Abyss exists in-universe, which I made up originally as a place to store OCs that I didn't know would fit in the Melodiverse or that I didn't like. It isn't supposed to legally exist, yet somehow it does (and a lot of people seem to know about it...) Call it a fourth wall break or whatever, but yeah LOL

hi Cass! Happy STS!!

My comfort character is 100% Theo. They're just so sweet and I love them dearly. Also, I based a lot of their autistic/neurodivergent traits on my own and my own experiences. So, we have a good bit in common. <3
