Lagrima to the eye
I'm so happy and proud of my students Henry, Ryan, Peyton, and Carey that will be heading off to Spain tomorrow. They will playing all around the Madrid area. What an amazing experience and quite the addition to the resume. After the tornado I decided it would be best to be stateside while the reconstruction of my house was taking place. What a difficult decision, but I still feel that it is the right one. Besides, my students will be in the most capable hands of maestro Enric Madriguera. I guess this is a regular part of teaching and it feels good to know that at this point they don't need me to play with incredible passion, love, and God forbid...accuracy. In a way, I'm still going to Spain as I live vicariously through my students. I believe I will be back in Spain Spring of 2012 and have performances based around the Segovia museum. To smell the air and interact with the culture that brought the world Segovia, Rodrigo, Tarrega and so many other musical immortals. It brings more than one Lagrima to the eye.
