Millennials: man Gen Z are so sensitive! They don't want to see any s3x in movies or nudity. It's terrifying how close we are to Puritanical culture.

Gen Z: so this is this indie game called mouthwashing and it's about you being trapped on a space ship and not only are there frank discussions of power dynamics between everyone from bosses to employees and corporations to employees but there's also cannibalism, discourse on societal responsibility to women and victims of unspeakable trauma, ghosts, torture, and cannibalism.

Millennials: jesus fucking christ. Well. Gen Alpha remains brain broken and weird.

Alpha: sit back down we're gonna talk about The Amazing Digital Circus and it's nonviolent but also deeply unsettling look at how humans interact with computer programming.

People in my friends group have drawn the wrong intonation from the Twitter posts that are like "why is there so much [problematic material in movies] we need less of it/a way to skip through it." And most critical friends of mine are like "well ACTsually" And I'm going "no. No no. It's very much there it's just *done very well*. And you need to calm tf down.

If I picked a thing that would bring me back to tumblr I would never have picked a deranged wannabe indie horror game villain destroying a social media platform with the grace of a rampaging elephant and the calculation of a drunk weasel but here we are.

The only thing I'll say is William Afton/Joey Drew/Elliot Ludwig/Insert vapid capitalist (vapidalist?) WOULD NEVER look *this* stupid.

Holy crap there are so many Black folks on twitter who are suddenly like listening to The Rocky Road to Dublin and I'm just like *oh my god* the mix on the soundtrack is absolute fire but it's also so incredibly sad and powerful I would legit pay for people to discover more Irish folk music I pledge to learn more about the blues.

One of my all time favorite "on my playlist for life always is a gaelic song about seaweed that is a really powerful yet very silly song about a guy and girl running off together that sounds like a battle cry and I would legit cry if people listened to stuff like that.

Anyway back to soundtrack.

Today is one of the biggest days in my work career and I'm so nervous it's going to go bad.

It is inevitable that I admit I work for a certain giant black and white cartoon character on this who has *several* themeparks and I think a lot about how bendyland failed and how that was what kind of bankrupted the studio and sort of continued the cascade of events and *as* a 'land' employee if besides Lacie they had other...idk hellgineers? Bendgineers? Is that where Joey was taking them with Gent?

And like, then that leads me to the hell denizens or whatever Joey would have called castmembers and like how relatable it is to be sucked into a giant faceless sludge on the bad days.

(I have HCs about this with Fazbear and their employees being fazbear 'entertainers'.)

Idk when you think about both games having such strong ties to y'know, history involving my illustrious boss and his purpose (yes, even Charles m cheese was inspired by Michael Theodore Mouse) and obviously devs draw from life but like...

Idk I just want studio info and keep thinking about y'know. How JDS narrowly missed the unionization window.

(Tho for the record while Walt apparently paid bad and didn't provide actual benefits benefits he did offer perks at the studio which make me think so hard of the game. Like soda fountains and a room to sleep off hangovers)

I'm obsessed with Fahnuff's new theory about the timeline. It explains everything and makes the books canon and not canon because I'm pretty sure Scott had an idea and just kind of pushed forward when he realized fnaf's not going away and his ourple serial killer had to be more than just purple.

It also solves fnaf4 because if (as fahnuff and ryetoast say along with MatPat) then they're trying to build robot kids and the 'afton' house is a sim. One way or another this is yet another new au~

Genius inventors Henry Emily and William Afton meet in college at Utah state. Together they go on to plan an entertainment empire that they want to take on Disney with their animatronic creations and innovative spring lock suits.

A horrific accident ends those dreams as the youngest son of Afton ends up killed and Afton himself is maimed in one of the suits he created. After his survival, he seeks revenge against Henry, the man he blames for his accident. He kills Henry's daughter Charlotte only for him to witness her spirit being seemingly brought back to life via Henry's love. Henry, going insane with grief, rebuilds Charlotte info an animatronic.

He's a rational man, so he enlists Henry to help him study it. They've collected some and he attempts to bring back his young son. Their experiments fail. There's not enough remnant. Afton is getting older, he's in pain, his mind still broken. He puts it together that Charlie's remnant was collected in copious amounts. So he needs more. He convinces Henry to help him build the funtimes. Henry doesn't put together they're for child murder until much later when Elizabeth dies on the opening day of circus baby's. He flees, taking Charliebot with him.

Afton flees as well leaving the Afton Robotics board and Fazbear Ent board to pick up the pieces. He is still intent on continuing his experiments so he kills the hapless security guard Fitzgerald, stuffs kids in the animatronics, and ends up reaping the consequences of his actions.

It taking a more magic mixed with sci-fi approach is my favorite part. I just want to keep imagining William in the Sister Location control room just barely watching some sort of CC/EVAN bot almost waking up...then flattening mysteriously at 6am every night.
