Winter in Scotland & Ireland
Part 47 - Fort on a Hill January 2017
We had another day of interesting weather. It has been quite windy since yesterday, and a storm came through last night. There are even predictions of possible snow the next couple of days, which we were a little excited about.
Our first stop was back over the border in the Republic of Ireland (co Donegal) at Grianán of Aileach (a hilltop ringfort on Greenan Mountain). It was sooooooooooo windy! We had to be careful up on top otherwise we would have gotten blown off! But it was very cool. We had it to ourselves for the most part, and there were amazing views of the surrounding area.
Upon leaving the fort, we got quite excited, as it then started to hail!! (obviously, we were easily excited on this trip). Looking promising for the weather predictions over the next couple of days.
...to be continued...
