What if there was an animated movie about a thylacine that scientists successfully brought back to life — but he escapes from the lab, ends up in a circus, and later is taken in by people who mistake him for a dog?

My inspiration comes from the animated films Bolt, Kimba, and Lilo & Stitch.

One of my favorite things about making art for a long time is that almost nothing is ever truly "unused."

This drawing was originally made for a Des Moines bus shelter that never got built after funding changes. A couple years later, another city needed proposals, and suddenly these weird little neighbors got a second chance.

In the meantime they've also become a print, a pride mural, and even a puzzle.

Turns out turtles carrying groceries have remarkable staying power.

I haven't gotten a final photo yet, but I believe it's been installed by now -- if you're in Cedar Rapids it's on 1st Ave. E (near Glenbrook Dr SE). If you drive by, snap a photo for me!
