Okay, I must say it
My working theory is that Khash is shadowscale. Or, was supposed to be one.
We know that she was supposed to(and did) hatch under Shadow Sign, and since argonians usually calculate exactly what time the egg should hatch, her bio-father knew about it, but doesn’t wanted that kind of fate for her, for some reason. That makes sense for why BlackMarsh native wouldn’t want Khash to have Hist-sap: shadowscales would have been able to track her down with the help of a Hist. That why her bio-father started to lose his mind- he knew one day they will find him, since he is connected to Hist
I’m sure Marlok knew she was supposed to be shadowscale. Kash mentioned that he was part of a bandit group, and bandits usually have many races in ‘em. Maybe someone of his old argonian comrades told him stories about shadowscales, and when Khash hatched under the shadow sign, he connected the dots. Or maybe he lied about his encounter with her father, maybe argonian was pretty sane, and asked Marlok for help, to kill him “orchestrate” the-egg death, to trick them. And he lied so Khash didn’t had a million-and-a-half questions - just cut it to “I just found you on madmans body, I don’t know anything”.
You might say: but, hey, Veezara told us that Shadowscale tradition is long-gone! Well, that’s part of why I like Rabbitts SoT: they did not tie their hand with lore, but rather expands it. I mean, as far as I know there is nowhere to be found mention of Thallery on UESP or other lore-wikies, but there we have Cary! He is perfectly lore-friendly.
And, let’s be real, no one respects Bethesda decision to end Shadowscales tradition, moreso, it makes no sense for Blackmarsh to extinct this tradition! yes, Dark Brotherhood was almost destroyed but Shadowscales was more connected with Sithis and Hist than Dark Brotherhood to depend on it’s existence.
I don’t know if Rabbitt will ever be able to return to SoT and Kash, but I really would have loved to see her expanded, she is amazing
That’s basically it :p
