#cashiers problems

I was running two registers today at work, and there was this guy cracking the shits at me for serving the people at the other counter (Who were there before him) before serving him. And he was full raging at me, so I just slowly turn to him and said; “Because you don’t know how to be nice I’m going to serve every single one of these people before I get to you,” He got even more mad and I just smiled at him as I took my sweet ass time. Shout out to the customer who actually stood up for me and yelled back at him for being a c**t. Anyway he ended up being served, not by me, but by my boss because she knew I was ready to throw hands with him.

Abuse of service/retail workers is not okay!

Recently, I got screamed at by two women and told to ‘shut the fuck up’ because I told them their card didn’t go though (thier fault using the payment system tbh. Stupid chip readers) and that they still needed to pay. They later went on to say that I’m a racist and how dare I tell them that they need to pay.

HOW. IS. THIS. ACCEPTABLE. BEHAVIOR. FOR. ANYONE!?

We may be here providing you a service but, that does not mean you can verbally assault and make false accusations.

Has this happened to any of you and how did you handle it?

When a customer tells you to smile

when you’re busy, down 4 cashiers and lines into the isle.

You’re lucky I even had time to say ‘hello!’ to you. You had a good 10 minutes in line and THATS what you had to say.

Today at work

Someone wanted 100$ cash back in Canadian currency only. That’s all fine and dandy but, I work and live in the US and we only take Canadian bills when on the very rare, off chance someone presents them. - We don’t keep Canadian money in the till.  - We can only do a currency exchange when your making your purchase in CAD and you’ll get your change back in USD. After calmly explaining this for the whole order, she then tells me that she doesn’t want the cash back unless its in CAD... well, i guess you’re just not getting cash back. -T

I don't care if people are on the phone when I ring them up.

That's a few less minutes of forced conversation for me.

Customer: No, but can I have the rewards prices?
