ATTENTION SPOP/SHE-RA FANDOM

hi!! i’m writing a paper on the queer representation in she-ra and the princesses of power and i would love to hear what people think about how the show handled that and how people felt about the show in general!

whether u thought spop did a good or bad job with handling the show’s queer characters/storylines, i would love to hear ur thoughts!!

first ones theory: the first ones were humans from the future

on etheria, most characters have some sort of characteristic that separates them from looking human (as we know humans), some examples being: catra (a literal cat), glimmer (naturally pink and shiny hair), bow (tinted purple hair), mermista (naturally blue hair), entrapta (naturally purple hair and pink eyes), etc

the only people that could pass as humans are adora, micah, and castaspella

adora has no defining characteristic that separates her from being human, no unnatural tint, no unnatural hair color, and no unnatural eye color. but she's a first one, not an etherian

this brings me to my next point: the similarities between first ones and modern humans

first ones are described a space exploring race that colonizes planets to drain their reaources, destroying them in the process

this could easily be what humans do in the future, as there are multiple space programs in place, and we are already destroying our own planet because we need its resources

micah and castapella could possibly be deacrndents of the first ones, as they have no humanly unnatural features

What I want for she-ra season 4 or seasons after that

first of all the other princesses (so Mermista, Perfuma, Frosta, spinerella and netossa) to be featured more heavily and become more developed. They feel as developed and important to the story as Kyle, Lonnie and Rogelio sometimes. And for a show called she-ra princesses of power, they really shouldn't

Mermista, Perfuma amd Frosta (especially the former two ) to actually make their feelings with what happened to Entrapta known

The other princesses helping Glimmer with being a good queen

The princesses acting as rulers and soldiers instead of only as soldiers

Huntara to be used by the writers like the badass she is and not be left behind during the season finale

The Power Couple of Brightmoon

In an alternate reality of Brightmoon, we see life in where the Royal family is loving and close to one another. Glimmer and Angella are playing and laughing with one another and Micah is a major source of that happiness as we see the classic “Daddy’s home” moment cliché that is in most family-centered scenes. As his family comes towards him, we see the chemistry between him and his wife Angella. She lovingly welcomes him back home and kisses his cheek. He affectionally calls her “Angie” and they are shown to be very attentive to one another emotionally. It was a sweet and tragic scene to see the “what If” in this perfect world. In reality, they were the leaders of the Rebellion to stop the Horde’s destruction of Etheria. The timing of how they got together and had a family during this time does not have a cannon answer for the audience yet. So, we are only able to assume what could have happened. How does a Sorcerer of the secretive Gild society of Mystacor become the husband to an immortal Queen who is an angelic being? Looking back on what we know for fact in the Cannon of the show is that: Micah as a young teenager was shown the invasion and the seizure of the black Garnet of the Scorpion peoples Kingdom. This gave a young Micah the knowledge of the threat of an outside force in Etheria. But this was not top-secret knowledge; other Kingdoms do talk and it had to have been known by others of the rise of the Evil Horde. It would have called for Kingdoms being more reserved to fight to protect their own. Making sense as we see that once the alliance fell the first time; all kingdoms went back to protect themselves alone. Later in life, Micah would become an elite sorcerer. For what we can assume in his mid-to-late twenties he could have tried to reach out to allying kingdoms; one of which being Brightmoon to what we know is the largest Kingdom in Etheria next to the Ice Kingdom. It is possible to he had reached out to Queen Angella in this time frame to get her alliance and have her help him convince other Kingdoms too. “I have been trying all these years to mold you into a proper Queen—but you are too stubborn and hot-headed and—Brave like your father”—Queen Angella This could not have been an easy task for Micah; as he had to impress Angella with a reason of logic on why the Brightmoon Kingdom would want to get involved in a dangerous conflict that could cause harm to her citizens. He would have to do a lot of convincing and this could of lead to a friendship forming between the two that would later lead to romance. Angella being the only Angelic being seen or known in the. It would be wise for Angella to have reservations on this. As of the cannon, there is little to no information on her background of upbringing, all that is known is her date of birth but not her age. She is known to be immortal but it is not ever stated if she is the last Angelic being or if she had any suitors prior to Micah. Without that, we can assume she is either a young immortal at this time with a normal age or possibly very old and reserved to the bright moon castle. We can assume she was a single ruler for as long as she has had the throne. With her and Micah becoming romantic, their personal connections and statues made them a power couple. What later followed must have been a big wedding and a huge deal about Glimmer being born. After all, she was the Princess to a mortal man and Angel. A Flashback episode would be nice—as it stands in the show as of Season three both parents are out of Glimmer’s life for the time and do not have a clear sign of returning. All we can hope for is to see the loving family of Brightmoon is united in some way shape or form before the show ends.
