forgive me for taking so long to answer </3 i was so busy during kinktober and couldn't find the time to write it :( to make it up for you, dear anon, ive prepared a few cat animagus!theo headcanons. i hope you enjoy it! 🩶
in your feline forms, you would love to curl up in narrow spaces—boxes, cupboards, secret passages… it would be even better if thoses places had shadows. nestled there, you felt a peculiar intimacy, knowing they were secret spots that would never be shared with anyone else, small sanctuaries sealed from the world.
theodore would occasionally bring you creatures hunted by cats—insects and mice, mostly, because he knew you detested them—and would chase you around until your little paws began to ache. whenever he brought a cockroach or a cricket, for example, he could see the growl that belonged only to your white cat form—a growl he found utterly adorable. yet he didn’t thrive solely on your ire; when you were truly pissed, he would bring you flowers instead and set them down before you, bowing his little head in remorse, those blue eyes dramatically sad.
you would hunt the most exotic butterflies in the forbidden forest, turning it into a competition—who would find the most vibrant, the rarest of wings? it was an activity theodore found painfully boring, but for some reason, you adored it. he always won, bringing you the brightest butterflies in your favorite hues—and you didn’t even mind losing, too busy meowing and captivated by watching them flutter away to wherever they belonged, so full of life and unbothered. theodore would hunt thousands of butterflies if it meant getting to see you jumping and meowing with that contagious joy.
you would bet on countless races after curfew, when the moonlight replaced the sun and hogwarts’ corridors were empty and wide enough for a proper run—two streaks of fur vanishing into shadow. some prefects would watch the scene in curiosity, wondering where those little loose dorm cats were heading, never suspecting they were students challenging the hours. it also served as your way back to the dorms after parties—many students were caught and rewarded with long detentions, but the fact you two had paws saved you from that unpleasant fate. theodore would shift into his gray form, and you into your white one, and the two of you would leave the parties wandering through the castle—perhaps the first drunken cats that hogwarts has ever seen. it meant you could sleep side by side, too; no one stopped kittens from curling up in the dormitories, and so, by dawn, you’d be human again, tangled in each other’s arms beneath warm blankets.
filch once caught theodore and whisked him away during one of your games, thinking he was just an adorable kitten and a new companion for mrs. norris. it took you a while to figure out why theo had vanished, but once you discovered who his captor was, you laughed and laughed until your sides ached, calling him a sweet little kitty as you rescued him—until he bit your finger. when he turned back into human shape, he still wore that scowl, his gray eyes and furrowed brows drawn in an expression that said clearly how offended he was by the nickname.
theodore would build a nest of blankets before the slytherin common room's fireplace, when hogsmeade was unreachable. he would nudge you towards it, and with his paws, he’d clumsily cover the two of you, signaling for you to rest your small white head upon his gray belly—and there, you’d both drift to sleep. little cat snores could be heard by anyone who got close, the fire's warmth blending with your fur and the blanket, carrying you both into a state beyond comfort. that was the perfect refuge for a storm: two cats wrapped in stillness, forgetting exams and fears, listening only to the crackle of the flames, and the soft rhythm of hearts.
