Her name is Toesy Posey McBeanerton and she really liked her new scratching thing.
I think my kittens don't understand cardboard scratchers, they won't use them and will go around them to scratch whatever I DON'T want them to. I tried putting one in the "main room" of the house so the adults will show them how, but they still don't seem to get it
GV here.
Have you tried adding catnip, silvervine, or FeliScratch to the scratchers? Do you have a variety of types and textures (vertical vs horizontal, etc)? Maybe your new kittens just don't like cardboard and will need sisal or carpet. What do they scratch that you don't want them to? That would be a great place to start looking for appropriate textures and heights to offer in a scratching post.
I do this for your own good human, I do this cause I love you.

Well, it took almost five years, but earlier tonight, either Whisper or Dexy finally scratched enough of the top loungey area of the Catopia Bella X Scratcher for it to collapse. That’s some tough cardboard, and probably why the company went out of business.
