as a zenos aficionado what kind of experiments do you think emet did to him that fandaniel just sort of mentioned in passing other than making a nine foot tall dd blond bombshell a la rocky horror picture show?

That's such a great way to describe him my god BUT AH. Gosh where to start-

Tbqh I feel like knowing Garlemald's proclivity for human experimentation, there was likely enhancements given to Zenos to further mold him into a living weapon for the Empire beyond the hardiness Garleans are known to possess [Perhaps with a hunch that one of the royal family would be key in its downfall, knowing how Emet functions and knowing he also had a presence during the Allagan empire] Delving into my own personal headcanon's and ideas though, I'll put this under a spoiler for folks who haven't done Endwalker's MSQ yet!

Following the line of Fandaniel's "Could Emet-selch have found a way?", I'm inclined to believe that Emet somehow tried to salvage a shard or the memories from a fellow Ancient- similar to how Amon was revealed to be a shard of Hermes by him- and what better subject to try placing said memories than with his own progeny with some extra oomph? Assuming something went wrong to Solus's eldest, Lucius, that wasn't an illness and it simply failed in Varis, Zenos being the 'third time's a charm' kinda checks out in my mind. The idea that Zenos dreamt of the Final Days just because he's a descendant from Emet-selch seems flimsy as an answer, personally, especially taking into consideration that he also took to the Resonant startlingly well to the point he essentially became an offshoot Ascian with abilities no one else has been able to acquire to the degree he has, even being shown a few times to be able to see and somewhat read the colors of peoples souls which we know Hythlodaeus and Emet could do.

TL;DR version I feel like he was given the Capt. America super soldier treatment as reinforcement for his already buckwild strength and intellect, but the Resonant essentially 'unlocked' part of his genetics that passed down from Emet and his Ancient-ness

I know this probably wasn't the inspiration behind Caine's office but it REALLY strongly reminded me of the ending sequence to Callahan's Crosstime Saloon & that is the OTHER silly reason I liked Caine's office so much. A little bit of it was nostalgia pure and simple.

Okay, wait, stay with me here and let me explain to you the context:

The ending of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon takes place in a metaphysical office (in space) of uh... God, basically- but not actually God, it's just this nebulous alien-thing that made the Earth universe and a bunch of other universe also (One of which is named Snuffy... while Earth's universe is named Raymond...). Also the office isn't like... real REAL, Parabolas (God's name is Parabolas by the way, I'm like 99% sure) he just made it look like an office so his human friends- plus the vampire & the talking dog.. there's also a vampire and talking dog there the aliens got left at the bar- would feel comfortable!! (Parabolas is so nice, he even checked for holes in the floor and tropical oils in the atmosphere so the humans didnt die or something... :Dc) But his universe projects (which are basically represented by electric snowglobes containing the entirety of Earth universe and whatever!) are being shut down by the space divine council bc it's too damn expensive to keep the lights on for worlds that aren't showing the "alien gods" unique shit. So, our pal Parabolas, enlists this Human Guy (Jake Stonebender, this is our pov character) at the very end of the game to solve his problem bc that's why he's good at. He wants Jake to prove to these otherworldy beings who fund his little projects that humans ARE unique and have value.

Do we... do we see my vision now? I'm seeing it a lot more now that I've written all that out. (That's Parabolas & Earth is top left orb btw.).

Anyways I love this shot and I love the idea that Caine has a little snowglobe souvenier of each adventure world he's ever made. That's really cute.
