In your recent space ai au where Eclipse is using heat to help Y/N's back relax, are the bandages that Sun saw around their neck from the same incident as the earlier one where Moon had to help them out when they almost died, or was it some other sort of general recklessness? Or was I just mistaking those bandages for a bandana?

You were right, those ARE bandages!

But those aren’t from the scene where they came really close to dying- that actually comes later! But they also aren’t from general recklessness, either. :)

I’ve dropped a few tidbits here and there as I started fleshing out the idea of the plot point those bandages are now! There’s been some inconsistency in the doodles I’ve shared, but to vaguely sum it up,

This is the doodle I first did when I was thinking about a falling out between Sun, Moon and Pilot Reader! A little before and after, I guess. (It’s hard to tell, but they DO have the bandages in the ‘after’ part. In the before, it’s just the bandanna)

At the same time I was wondering if I should give Moon something like the Afton-influence-virus-thing that security breach had going on, and my gf suggested that maybe Moon was normally quite stable but during moments of high stress it could put pressure on him that triggered a ‘bug’

And, well, this Reader has a bit of a temper (always has),

And has a bad habit of,, basically making arguments worse, kind of purposefully provoking the other person into losing their cool- at least that way, they can act like THEYRE the one who’s more composed

And normally, the bots all have very precise control of regulating their body’s temperature! They can even make their hands cool to soothe someone when they’re hot, or make their hands warm to- in Eclipse’s case- soothe tense, sore muscles

(Side note: Reader still has bandages at this point! The majority of the injury has healed, but Sun is the resident nurse and Reader is just too tired of bickering to put up much of a fight about it. They won’t let him change the bandages, though- they always do it themselves.)

But when the bug is triggered, Sun’s AI goes out completely, and all ship functions are channeled to Moon. That, on top of the already rocky state of his reasoning skills at the time, is kind of a lot for one bot to handle! So, like most computers when overloaded with too many processes at once, he’s really quick to overheat!

Luckily, there’s a failsafe in the ships system that will power down Sun and Moon in such a situation, so in only takes a few minutes before Moon crashes and goes unconscious until the ship is prompted to get him up again. By that time, the ‘bug’ moment has normally passed, so yknow! All’s well that ends well!

(This particular scene happens later in the timeline, and is actually the first step Moon takes in repairing the relationship he and Sun had with Reader. <3)

But yeah that pretty much sums it up I think! Basically, Reader, Sun and Moon are all pals > The Reveal Happens > Reader has bandages and everyone is walking on eggshells with one another > Reader finds Eclipse and bonds with him, making Sun and Moon jealous slightly annoyed > Reader puts themselves at serious risk of death > Moon comes to his gotdam senses > ?????? > profit

As far as extended families go... I feel like Compton had a daughter who was probably non-psychic and the result of a one night stand and who was raised primarily by her also non-psychic mother but whom he did write letters to and occasionally see in the summer. It wasn't due to psychic prejudice, but rather both he and her mother were a bit worried about his actions and reactions during the whole fiasco that happened during that animal activism moment where he got overstimulated and ended up in jail. That and how the gulch isn't very child-safe. The daughter grew up and found work in a prison (as like a guard or a cook or something--which is why Sam said she learned to make pancakes in prison before correcting herself as having learned from her mom). Their relationship was still fairly distant until she had kids who ended up being psychic and she started calling/visiting more to get his advice to make sure she was giving them the support they needed.

I always really like the prospect of Compton's daughter being raised by her mom bc both parents agree Compton just. wasn't fit to be a parent, he wasn't in a good space for it.

Reimagining her in prison as "having a job AT a prison" is a fun way to interpret that line from Sam, I'm into it 👍

How comfortable would you rate the seating at the particular airport you are in?

They're not too bad, larger size chairs with decent seat cushions and some even have leg rests, but the backs are a little hard

TBH, even if Black did get thrown out of the ship, he'd probably just treat the whole ghost thing as an exciting new scientific endeavor. It probably wouldn't phase him one bit, especially since he would now be able to reach tall things all on his own and could probably still use pencils and notepads (considering that ghosts can still manipulate objects in order to do tasks). He could also ignore social boundaries and things like "privacy" and "personal space" to even greater extents than usual.

You know, this is totally fair XD

Did the yellow flavor (I forget the name) actual go to each other flavor and ask for help like he did with Ralsei, or do we have a bunch of other goat boys who just randomly got sucked up out of nowhere and then decided to just roll with the current events because Kris needed saving?

Kind of a combination of both those events, just happening very quickly! They quickly got a sense of what was going on without too much explanation needed.

Oh, more train car ideas? How about a train where you enter it, and are greeted with caution tape and a sign saying "Sorry, this car is out of order. Please exit to the right, and have a pleasant day!" And then you just exit through the open door to the right of the sign. But you are left perpetually wondering if the car was really out of order, or if it was intentionally designed that way...

So how long does it take for the PAKlets to fully integrate with Dib and Gaz's systems?

At least a year, not including possible times where they attempt to take it off themselves, or Zim has to take them off in order to make adjustments, but long enough that neither of them will really notice something is odd. By the time they integrate, it’ll already be too late.

(More 0K asks) Did the ghosts of everyone's lusii (save Feferi's for obvious reasons) join Tavros' little army somewhere down the line? Also, did Equius die before his dad did, and, if so, what happened to him? Or to any lusii in the fleet whose trolls die before they do? (Such as the multiple Overbear victims, with the obvious exception of that one who it was implied he killed directly, since they all had high enough colors that they could have brought them along like Equius did)

Future Tavros: Not Vriska’s, not Kanaya’s, and I’m not sure Terezi’s has ever hatched or died?

Future Tavros: Besides that, yes.

Future Tavros: Lusii ghosts do not tend to hang around a long time without a troll to keep their attention. Tink and Pounce and Aradia, Sollux, and Karkat’s lusii should not have stuck around long enough for me and Nepeta to find them, but they did. That was really weird.

Future Tavros: Our best guesses are that either Aradia somehow pre-charged her mom, or else there was something weirder than the obvious about Karkat’s dad.

Future Eridan: Most lusii will die natural deaths before their teal or above troll will die a natural death.

Future Eridan: Eq didn’t die a natural death but he did outlive Aurthour.

Future Eridan: If the troll predeceases the lusus... a quadrant or someone else CAN take responsibility for it. But if not, there isn’t any kind of contingency set up.

Future Tavros: Yyyyyyyyyyyyeah. Policy varies from ship to ship.

Future Tavros: There’s ‘euthanize them’. There’s ‘let the other lusii eat them’. There’s ‘just stop feeding them and see what happens even if they are large carnivores and what will happen should be fairly obvious’.
