On 3 years ago today, I finished reading Wuthering Heights for the first time, since when it has been my all-time favourite book. It is a dark, partially shocking, emotionally powerful and hard-hitting novel, offering much more than an ordinary romance, as it has been misjudged by some, and one of the most complex and compelling characters in literature, Heathcliff. It really deserves to be read and academically studied by male readers, too. Besides all, considering that Emily Brontë had an isolated and obscure life, I think her imagination and how she created such a world are amazing.
