Prayer request! (Tw: mentions of r*pe and sa)
I’m going to my local rape crisis center today to hopefully find some support and info. I might actually report the rape since I got scared last time and told the police that I wasn’t raped but just sa’d.
But now I remember all of it it and I might report it.
I don’t know.
Please pray for me.
St .Maria Goretti, please pray for me.
I don't normally do this...
But could you all please keep a friend of mine in your prayers? He's going to be getting a whole leg artery replaced when he goes to see his doctor next. I don't know exactly when that will be, but this man has been a good, reliable, and kind friend to me and others for years.
Please, please keep him in your prayers, and that nothing will go wrong with the surgery or after the surgery.

a prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe for a greater love of Christ
This prayer is a rewrite of sorts from an old novena I wrote, and has a partner prayer to Saint Juan Diego for greater trust in prayer, which can be found here
May we never forget, most gracious Virgin, mother of Guadalupe, that during your appearance to Saint Juan Diego on the mount of Tepeyac, you promised to show compassion and sweetness to all who, trusting in the love of our Lord, seek out your help towards their needs and affliction. You promised to hear our grief, dry our tears, and help us find consolation and relief.
Mother of Guadalupe, I place myself here at your feet and beg you to place your mantle across my shoulders. My soul is dry, and my faith is barren, and I fear to place myself before the Lord when my heart is so sorely lacking in love for Him. Draw me close to the Divine Infant held against your breast; show me how to best love Him. Help me follow in your footsteps, magnifying the Lord just as you do, and pray that I may grow in love of the Child on my lap. Pray I might have the strength of heart to take Him in my arms, and mark myself as Christ's own forever.
Our Lady, the Mystical Rose, the water of the desert, pray for me, and show me the best ways to widen my heart. Mother of the True God, patroness of the Americans, obtain for me from your most holy Son the grace of faith. I may come to love your Baby as you love Him, and kiss His face with the same adoration that you do. Pray for me, Mother of Guadalupe, that I may love Christ!
In your Son’s name, I ask of you, Lady of Guadalupe. Amen.
O God, by whose gift Saint Elizabeth of Hungary recognized and revered Christ in the poor, grant, through her intercession, that we may serve with unfailing charity the needy and those afflicted. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. (from The Roman Missal)
Litany of Humility
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being honored,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being praised,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being approved,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being despised,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I go unnoticed,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Asking for prayers for the intercession of Saint Joseph the Worker and Saint Bede the Venerable (patron of historians). I am finishing my PhD program in history and it is very difficult to find a job that’s actually in my field.
