are you scared for ponyboy? because i am! it looks like he could develop a more serious addiction than just smoking. he already smokes more than everyone in the gang, despite most likely being the last one among the smokers to start, and already faces major negative effects. he takes multiple pills instead of just one. he’s friends with a literal grug dealer in twttin, while the drug use was so widespread! not to mention that a person who has experienced this amount of trauma would probably be more likely to develop a substance addiction. he and cathy also broke up for some reason: knowing her family situation, it might be related to something like that. are you scared for him? i think we should be
