Pony and Dally are the closest ones to the Shepard's so of course they know the rules of the Shepard gang. The others do not. So when Tim picks Curly up by his jacket like a kitten the Curtis gang is silent expecting a fight. Except Pony and Dallas snickering and making faces at Curly trying to embarrass him. But when Tim picks curly up by the front of his shirt suddenly nothings funny anymore and it's as quiet as Beyonce mute challenge. The gang can't tell the difference. Dallas and Pony can't explain it they just know.
