3. A production you’d fantasize about directing- Unsurprisingly, Julius Caesar and Henry IV! I had an idea in Rome class a few weeks ago when we were talking about divination. I’d start JC with the lights down, just enough to see, and there’s the soothsayer reading the signs. Also, @caelidra and I have an idea for a Henry IV that starts/ends with kids playing with toy swords and pretending to be knights and kings and you see they’re acting out stuff like the battle from Henry IV, so it heightens the theme of youth because you’re presented with little kid Hal and Hotspur.

who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter

            Lily never had the heart or the steal to be a hunter. Really, she’s a sad, sad disappointment to her family. Petunia, attempting to help her sister save face, arranges an incredibly easy hunt for her; this werewolf doesn’t even have a particularly strong will to live! Yet what does Lily go and do? She bloody befriends the beast. Typical. 

who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman

          It’s an odd friendship; of all the children in the village for the local mermaid, revered as the guardian and source of luck for the fishing folk, to befriend, it had to be Severus Snape, son of the town drunk. He can’t even manage a boat! Lily has to come  close to shore, bobbing at the edge of the docks to talk with her best friend, rather than finding her partner among those who go out in the boats every day to haul in the catch. Oh well. As long as he doesn’t do anything to upset her. She is the envoy responsible for making sure their protected from the dire storms and ensuring the catches are good. 

who’s the witch and who’s the familiar

         Ostensibly, Lily is the witch and Severus the sphynx is the familiar, but in truth Severus is just as magical, smart, and inventive as she is. Sometimes Lily jokes that it ought to be considered the other way around, with Severus as the witch and her the hapless familiar.

who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict

       “You do not need another cup of coffee. What you need is to sleep.” “But--!” “No buts! The comfy chair in the back corner is empty. Go, take a nap. I’ll watch your stuff.” It’s bad when your local barista won’t sell you more coffee, Severus. She really does seem to care, though.

who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)

              Prince Severus and Dame Lily have been inseparable since they were small. Even while he was busy with his studies and she was training and serving as a squire to another knight, they found time to get into trouble together. Well, really, it was Lily getting into trouble and Severus getting her out of it with his royal influence, but hey, that’s what best friends are for, right? Besides, she’d do anything in her power to return the favour. Even if it means laying down her life to protect him when the kingdom is thrown into turmoil by rebellion. 

who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent

        The war ended different. Lily survived with Harry, but James wasn’t so lucky. Severus has still been roped into being Potion’s professor at Hogwarts, ostensibly so Dumbledore can keep a close eye on the former Death Eater. The two old friends have a long way to go, and a lot of old hurt to heal, but Lily is determined to make amends with him. Harry, in true Potter fashion, is determined to get underfoot and cause trouble.
