Guess what? I wrote. 310 words. That's a 160 more than I had to write for repeating note milestone! And it adds up to a total of 11,838 words.
And guess what? You're gonna get to read all of them. That's below the cut, if you're interested!

Finally got back to writing after an unintended four-day break! Put down 304 words, adding up to a total of 11,527 words. It’s also the day before the conflict finally starts, so that’s exciting.
I also split what I have so far into two chapters, so Chapter 1 is 7,682 words, and Chapter 2 is (thus far) 2,908 words.
Favorite thing I wrote today:
He walked down the street, most in thought. Dodging the occasional passerby was second nature to him. A copper every hour. If half the shift is noon to second short-shadows… then that’s… He muttered the calculations under his breath and gasped. Almost eight hours. Wyrd, that’s almost twice what I make already.
He walked a little slower, dazed by the thought. Making that much, he could do a little more than just get by. He could start saving up. It’d only be a copper a day, but he would be saving up.
All the things he’d be able to do swirled around in his head. Replace his old, worn-out rugs. Mend his old cups and plates—or better yet, replace them. Replace his pillow, his blanket… He didn’t dare to think of the new things he could buy, worrying the very idea might knock him over and render him useless.
This bit really shows just how poor Nauth is. His financial fantasies are replacing his old things. Never buying new things. I think it’s kinda sad, but he’s happy about it, so.
Finally wrote after too long! 299 new words, with a total of 10,248 words.
…10,248!?
WE BROKE 10K, LET’S GO!!!
Wow! That’s exciting! Anyway, here’s my favorite thing I wrote today:
Nauth was in the middle of flipping flatbread. He wanted to fling it at her face. “What I can and can’t afford is none of your business.” He couldn’t keep the edge out of his voice anymore. “If I wanted your help, I would have asked for it.”
Yeah, things are not going well. A little lovers’ quarrel, if you will, except they’re not really even lovers. Womp womp.
Turns out, poor people find it insulting when you point out that they’re poor. Who could’ve guessed? /sarcastic
Wrote 294 words today, for a total of 12,233 words. Woohoo.
Favorite Thing I Wrote Today:
The streets were quiet as Nauth walked home, save for the lamplighters using the empty streets for play and the white-cloaked vigil-goers.
Basically the only interesting thing I wrote.
Finally got some good writing done. 580 words, for a total of 10,854 words. The juices were really flowing today.
Favorite thing I wrote today:
For the most part, the meal passed quickly, save for small talk. No, he didn’t have any plans to open a stall in the Market District, and Kalami, the stew was the best he’d ever had, and no, he already had plans for Wyrd’s Watch, but he was flattered they invited him, and Ven was doing quite well, thanks for asking.
I really like how it flows. I don’t think I need to explain why it’s my favorite every time I do these. I just like this bit.
I got some writing done today. Somehow. And I did a lot more than I needed to, 539 words for a grand total of 9,158 words.
Favorite thing I wrote today:
I got nothing. For all the words I wrote, none were particularly good. Sorry. You can go and read my other progress updates though, under the tag #cb progressing stuff. There’s some good stuff there, if you haven’t read it already.
So, I have a confession to make. Instead of writing, I got sidetracked and did some worldbuilding.
LOOK, how am I supposed to know what a religious statuette looks like unless I know what number the figure is connected to and why? I had to do the worldbuilding, if you think about it.
Still, I did write. 487 words, brand new and on the page.
Favorite thing I wrote today:
Jemes waved as if trying to cut the air.
I wanted something better than “he waved emphatically”, and this is what I ended up with.
Writing progress update! I wrote 369 words today, adding up to 11,223 words in total.
No favorite thing I wrote today, but I will be posting an infodump about keital and how people in Kem lon-Dalan divide the day later. That’ll take a bit though, since I may or may not have dinner soon.
