March 15th was Comfort Character Day here in the Tacoma Nation! I may be a day or two late but I finally got this done haha. Always nice to get the opportunity to draw my four Favorite Little Guys all together in one place. Jenny, Bolt, Tamama and Snoopy! Drawing them all together like this made me realize how much white there is between all their designs lol
Kinda mixed on how this came out and not feeling super encouraged about posting it due to,, [gestures at everything here] but I hope you guys like it haha. Be sure to give your own favorite little guys some appreciation for CC Day as well <33
Happy Comfort Character Day, Tacoma Nation !! Every year on March 15th, I draw something of my comfort characters bc that was the day two years in a row I started appreciating two different characters as comfort characters!! It started in 2020 with Bolt, and then it happened again in 2021 with Jenny!
It hasn't happened on that day specifically again since then, but as you can see, two more have been added to my roster since then! Tamama in 2023 (though he kinda came back from when I liked Sgt Frog as a kid lol) and Snoopy from this past year!!
I'm really happy with how this came out, I love how colorful and vibrant it is! This was also my second and third times drawing Snoopy and Tamama respectively, so they still feel a bit wonky but I'm happier overall with how they came out here compared to the last times I drew them! Then of course, it was always nice to get to draw Bolt and Jenny again <33

What's the most interesting item you own?
I would say either my giant laying down Bolt plushie or my Lego Concorde! Both are items that I'm super excited to have and both took a lot of money to get lol. I don't have this particular giant Bolt with me at school at the moment but I'm going home at the end of next week and I'll be able to have him on my bed again :3 The Concorde is at home too! It sits on my shelf and I'm super proud of putting it all together this past winter :3
And this isn't necessarily something I own per say, but it's something I'm incredibly grateful to have: There is a brick with my name on it on the 150th anniversary legacy walk at Cedar Point! My mom got it for me as a christmas gift a few years ago when Cedar Point was selling personalized bricks and there's one that says "[My IRL Name]'s happy place, 2012, Love K, T, D and W" (my other family members' initials). I haven't gotten the chance to seek it out at Cedar Point yet, but I will definitely find it the next time I'm there. It's so amazing to have something with my name on it be a part of my favorite place in the world <3
The post I just reblogged really got me thinking about the fact that sharing media of really any form (movies, songs, shows, games, etc.) that REALLY means a lot to me is one of my most sincere love languages.
Ever since I can remember, whenever I show people something that makes me happy, I do so in the hope that it'll make them as happy as it makes me. Part of that comes from the ADD urge to Ramble About Special Interests and Hyperfixations, but it also just comes from a place of really wanting to make others happy.
But if it's a piece of media that really holds a lot of significance to me in one way or another, it's also one of my ways of opening up to someone emotionally. The movie or song or what have you sort of does the heavy lifting because it's presenting things that I feel in a way that the other person can directly see and understand.
Take Bolt for example. I've talked about this before, but Bolt is a movie that means so much to me and I hold it in a very, very special place in my heart. Part of that is because I see a lot of myself in Bolt and his journey, both externally and internally, really resonates with me. So if I ever ask you "can we watch Bolt together?", not only am I just wanting to share one of my favorite movies with you, but I also want to share a form of emotional vulnerability with you and give you a better understanding about, for lack of a better way of phrasing it, kind of who I am in a sense.
The same sentiment goes for songs. Especially songs like Pep Talk by Abandoned Pools, the acoustic version of Garden by Meet Me @ The Altar, and We're Gonna Make It by In Paradise. They also offer a way to explain things that mean a lot to me, or that I feel really describe who I am and how I feel about things, in a 2-4 minute package that is more easily digestible than a movie for instance. Music in general holds a lot of significance to me as well, and there are a number of songs out there that I feel are the most important to me. Others include Vanilla Twilight and Firebird, both by Owl City, From Long Sleep and Autopilot by Abandoned Pools, and Barking at the Moon by Jenny Lewis.
So in general, if I ever want to share a piece of media with you that I tell you means a lot to me or anything like that, it means I really value you as a friend and I want you to see/hear/play/etc. something that will help you understand me better in turn.
I just watched Bolt again for the first time in a rlly long time with @macaronichewtoyz irl and god it just reminded me how special this movie is to me. I’ve always loved it ofc but I REALLY fixated it starting in March of 2020, at a time when I really needed a story like this one. I was going through a lot of personal change both internally and externally at that time and Bolt’s journey of self-discovery and learning/deciding what he is best meant to be even if that isn’t being a superhero, was something I really connected to at the time, and still really do today. And then sharing it with one of my best friends in person for the first time just made it all the more special <33
I have been informed that a certain Disney movie came out 15 years ago today! So for that, I decided I wanted to post this older piece of a certain dog that happens to be the lead role in said movie :]
Lots of ramblies abt Bolt and what he/the movie mean to me below the cut :]
For anyone who doesn't know, Bolt, both the movie and the character, hold a very very special place in my heart. I loved the movie ever since I saw it for the first time as a kid, but it really came into a whole new realm once I rediscovered/fixated on it during a very difficult time in my life, starting in March of 2020. During that spring and summer especially was a really hard time for me, and Bolt really helped me get through it.
I don't kin characters but Bolt is probably what would be considered closest to that for me. I really relate to his journey of self-discovery throughout the movie and finding out who he is, because I was going through a lot of the same stuff at that time. I love all of the other characters of course, and the found family dynamic especially, but he will always be my favorite <3
For awhile, I also collected a bunch of Bolt merch during 2020 and 2021, mostly plushies, of which I have 7, plus one of both Mittens and Rhino. Perhaps I'll share those another time but they're all still with me and live on my bed. Two of them in fact, my original smaller one and one of my two big ones, come with me to my college dorm. So plainly, they are still very important to me.
Bolt is still a big comfort character of course as well, although within the last year, he's taken a more backseat role behind Jenny. He's still there for sure, hence why I have my cc: Bolt tag haha. It will always be my favorite Disney movie too. I know it's not perfect, but there's a distinction between "favorite" and "best" for a reason yknow.
