Hermione Granger:What is your favorite book, how many times have you read it, and why do you love it?

I can’t very easily name a favorite book, but among the top three definitely is Tschick (English title: Why We Took The Car) by the wonderful (and sadly deceased) German writer Wolfgang Herrndorf. I read it two times. I love it, because it’s a very clever book in a down-to-earth way; a book, that leaves you satisfied, in a good mood and in love with humanity. I don’t know anyone who didn’t dearly love it, after reading it. 

Arthur Weasley:What do you think is the best “muggle” invention?

Hahaa, this is a very good question. Today, I’d say Triptans, a medication against migraines. Apart from that: Definitely the printing press.

The wonderful Lala-Kate tagged me to name Three Things that Annoy me to an Unreasonable Level. Time for honesty, it would seem.

1.  Hidden misogyny:  By men I like and respect. Most don’t even realize they are doing it. Like doing things without offering it beforehand: paying the bill at the restaurant, tearing something out of my hand to carry it for me... “Sorry, I meant well” is not an excuse!

I genuinely HATE unhidden misogyny, of course. But this goes without saying. :)

2. Someone discovering my perfect working spot: I am a bit strange in that matter. That is: really strange. But my ability to really focus and concentrate on high speed depends on a lot of seemingly random things. Like colors in a room, the noises, the smell, the light, the position of furniture. If I have found the perfect place, like a certain spot in a library or in my office, I NEED to go there and work from there or I get lost in space... And if someone discovers the beauty and perfection of this spot, too, I am usually heartbroken...

3.  People being mean to their kids and calling them names in public:  No need to explain, I suppose. Can’t stand it!

5. And of course Lala-Kate: Generous and incredibly funny, writes wonderful stories and has a high functioning diplomate’s gene in her DNA. A very good friend and a keeper. She usually complains about her hair, which actually is very nice. You should look for yourselves… ;) Take a very big hug!!!

Nicknames: Uff... I must admit, I have none.

Sexual Orientation: 95 % straight

Height: 5’3”

Favorite color: changes frequently, currently: green

Languages: German is my native language, I am supposed to be fluent in English but I am not anymore, I am also supposed to be fluent in French, but hélas, have had no practice in nearly 10 years. There is a tiny bit of Spanish left somewhere, too. Apart from that, I can read medieval German and French languages and a bit of Latin. But well, that's not quite "languages", is it?

One place that makes you happy: Home, wherever that is, and Berlin in summer.

How many blankets do you sleep under: I have a combined winter/summer one. It's really two blankets buttoned together. In summer you can use just one half of it. 

Favorite movie: Can't really say. I love some of the British Shakespeare adaptations, I love Das Leben der anderen (The Lives Of Others), the LOTR-Trilogy and of course the Muppet Christmas Carol.

Last book you read: A poetry book by a contemporary German author and satirist. His name is Thomas Gsella and he's just a wonderful person. Now I am rereading Great Expectations - mostly during the daily underground rides.
