Colored first shots at my charr characters. Colored sketches. Nothing fancy. Just to get their coloration down. I’m by no means good at drawing these guys yet, so have patience. I’m not gonna get it on my first try, after all.
I like how Ampris is coming along. Cearnach has something I can work with. Verlot looks.... so weird to me. I feel like she’s going to get a heavy redesign as I learn to draw charr.
Wish me luck.
Semi-traced first drafts of my 3 Charr. I traced over their basic shapes, then added my own details and tweaks to anatomy etc. Still, these are all in for some heavy editing as I learn to properly draw Charr.
Basic backstories below... Nothing very well fleshed out yet. :\
Verlot: [Pronounced Ver-low] Parents are farmers (mated pair - she even knows her siblings). Raised in a fahrar. She can focus under pressure but is otherwise a bit scatterbrained. Some think her less intelligent, but others rightfully see her as unfocused. She is mostly optimistic but increasingly uncertain about her future. She wants to fight, and has trained hard for it, but deep down knows that it would be more practical for her to return to the farming life. Luckily, Cearnach doesn’t think that’s such a bad idea, so long as they can still explore (fighting included). Sun warband. She chose winter as the prefix to her surname as she was born in the winter and thought about it for a long time before finally deciding on her initial choice after all. She knows Cearnach from the Ash fahrar both attended, but they didn’t see much of each other once their warbands went separate ways. When they eventually did meet again, they instantly became friends, reminiscing on childhood mischief and adventures. Smol @ 5′ 5″ but very lithe and wiry from all of her combat training.
Cearnach: [Pronounced: Care-nock] Raised in a fahrar, and sees his sire fairly often around the Black Citadel, but his mother is always off fighting (though she was happy to stick around to raise him up to the fahrar). He’s pretty good-natured and chill when not in combat situations. His enjoys fighting, but doesn’t have much of a temper most of the time. Verlot likes him because he balances out her wild nature. He fancies himself a romantic but as he matures, he considers taking a mate, even if just for a little while. He finds himself simply wanting to follow Verlot wherever life takes her. Thorn warband. He chose Wild as the prefix to his surname because he wanted to travel. It was the most exciting factor to war, for him. Cearnach is somewhere around 6′ 2″ tall and somewhat rangy. His fur and hair are entirely black, and his skin is dark wherever it shows, as are his sclera. His light blue eyes stand out against his dark face and tends to intensify whatever expression he happens to have. (Cearnach means Victorious in Irish. Shhhhh)
Galena: [Pronounced Gal-enna] Dropped at the fahrar as soon as was possible so that her parents could get back to war. Probably born on the battlefield. She grew up with a violent streak, despite otherwise having a great sense of humor. She was frequently in trouble for lashing out at the other cubs or even adults. She secretly counted each one as a practice for the real fighting and shunned sparring as being “for babies”. When her parents ever did show up, they would always seem proud of her for her natural aggression. She is still violent as an adult, but her anger has morphed over time into more of a chaotic fun-loving wild side. Chopper warband. She took care to choose the most brutal name she could think of. She gets a huge kick out of crushing her enemies and riding in huge war machines. Though she is a warrior, her parents were engineering types when not fighting, and so she has picked up a bit of knowledge on the subject. She gets along fine with her warbandmates and often celebrates victory with them over a LOT of whiskey. She doesn’t otherwise get along too well with most strangers. It’s partly a hidden socially awkward streak due to her self-imposed lack of basic socialization as a cub. She does not get to bone Rytlock. That’s silly. Staunchly Iron Legion even though she acts like a Blood. This is a mostly non-serious character, because I need one like that at all times.
That is some theatrical lobbing of toilet paper.
Cearnach found himself very fascinated by the olmakhan and their customs, returning many times to study them and their ways of raising cubs, social structures, and magic use.
He’s basically become the charr version of an anthropologist, and I’m ok with this.
Caernach - What's the best color fur?
Black or golden red.
Cearnach - 11. What do they feel most insecure about?
Cearnach does not want to be made an officer and has gone out of his way to avoid it. He doesn't like the idea of being responsible for a group of soldiers, nor does he feel like he'd make a great leader. Ironically, he ends up an excellent fahrar Primus (and parent). He just finds teaching cubs to be less stressful and more personally/professionally rewarding.
cearnach replied to your post “i'm so poor, i can only afford either a ps4 or a capture card'...”
i totally get you, i mean like my mum always tells me to turn off the toaster at the powerpoint etc so that we can save money, whereas there are people who are like "omg i can't believe my dad got me a white iphone instead of a black one!" jfc
people who make those posts probably don't even know what being poor really means. when you're not sure if you'll be able to afford food. when your jeans get a hole and you absolutely do not have the money to buy new ones. when you consider items above 1€ as expensive. when you're afraid you can't afford the rent to your appartment anymore. and they're whining about things like a ps4 or iphones or what ever smfh.
