~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, the day came. Conner had come over to your place. At first, everything went well!
You had gotten the recipes pulled up and got to work. It started small, making pumpkin cookies and other such treats.
Then it started going south. It started small a first.
"Hey, babe, was this container powdered sugar or Flour?" Conner asked, looking at you. In his hands he held one of the glass jars you used to contain your baking ingredients.
It was easier than having to dig around for everything in the cabinets.
"Should be Powdered Sugar." You replied, focusing on mixing the batter you were working on at first.
"Cool, Cool. And my sweet, beloved boyfriend who I love more than life... Where are your measuring cups?" Conner Questioned as he sat the glass jar on the counter.
"Second Drawer, left of the sink." You answered, setting the bowl on the counter as you went to open the drawer in question.
Conner gave a nod, "Sweet." He grabbed the measuring cup size he needed, and you went back to the sugar cookie mix you were working on.
You were on Cookie duty, and Conner was on Icing. It was simple as that. It was a good balance and i kept things orderly.
You began scooping the cookies onto the cookie tray, humming softly to yourself. Conner was focused on trying to make the icing perfect.
For some reason, though, The icing wasn't mixing like it was supposed to. Conner just brushed it off, though. It would probably still be good.
"Sooo, why the sudden interest in baking, [Name]?" Conner asked, leaning against the counter as he watched you put the Cookies in the oven.
You gave a shrug, "Dunno, just figured I should try it. Besides, the recipes I found looked really yummy. They seemed simple enough too."
Conner smiled softly, "Fair enough. Wanna watch a movie while we wait?" He asked.
You closed the oven door and smiled. You nodded, "Yeah, why not? We got time to kill?"
You hadn't even realized you had forgotten to set a timer at that point.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was an hour and a half later, you and Conner having just finished up some Horror movie.
Conner sniffed the air, and his eyes widened. "The Cookies!" He said.
You and him stood up in a panic and hurried to the kitchen. You rushed to open the oven and a plume of smoke came out.
Conner hurried to open a window, venting the smoke out.
You got your oven mitts on and pulled out the burnt cookies. You set charred mess on the counter and sighed.
"Damnit, I forgot to set a timer." You admitted, staring at your ruined cookies.
Conner brought the bowl of icing over with a sympathetic smile, "At least we still have the icing..." He said, offering the bowl.
You went to stick your finger into the icing and eat it, but the moment it reached your tongue, you gagged and hurried to wash your mouth out. "Icing is also a lost cause." You said weakly, slumping down onto the floor. Conner joined you in your defeat.
"Well... at least we tried?" He said softly, You smiled and laughed.
You agreed in a nod, "Yeah, we did, and it was also an excuse to spend time together." You said, looking on the bright side of things.
Conner laughed, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and holding you close.
"Damn right it was, I wouldn't trade today for anything, mess ups and all."
You rested your head on his shoulder, "Neither would I, Kon. Neither would I."

a/n: Another character close to my heart. I'm so happy that I'm trying to write for all these characters, even if I'm not the best.
Seriously though, if you haven't had any pumpkin baked goods, go out and make some! or maybe buy some! They scratch part of my brain so nicely.
