A fun little "random, causation, or correlation?" question for you! Have you heard of many cats having increased vomiting/allergies/adverse reactions to maropitant (aka cerenia)? And of any cats you can think of, how many of them are orange? Basically, I know two other people with orange cats, and those cat and MY orange cat are all allergic or react really poorly to it.... but those are the ONLY cats anyone knows - amongst our cat-owning friends - who have a known poor reaction to it. S'weird.

I have never heard of an adverse reaction to Cerenia. In fact, I generally tell owners that if a patient vomits while on Cerenia, it would be considered an emergency, as the drug is so strong that vomiting despite having it on board means that something is seriously wrong!

All right. Koa and I are back after driving all the way home to see the vet. She's doing much better.

but. the vet gave her a shot of cerenia (anti-nausea) and she had quite the adverse reaction to it. she was super lethargic and had a hard time moving her hind? she was having trouble getting up, going up/down the stairs and such. i called the vet but they were closed of course.

has anyone else gotten this experience w their dog before? it was super weird, after 24hrs she's fine and back to her normal self.

Poor Britta is really not feeling well today. We have had a little bug going around and she seems to have gotten hit the hardest. This sweetie has been vomiting. No food or water thru the rest of the night and she has been given cerenia to help her stomach settle. Hopefully by tomorrow she will feel better and be on the mend. If she is not we will see Dr. A.
