Update on Oscar (and baby Oscar throwback photo to 2013)! Oscar is doing great in the hospital at UC Davis and is making small, gradual progress each day. Slow and steady wins the race after all! He is continuing to defecate small amounts on his own and his feces is looking like more hydrated hay matter which is great as it indicates his GI system is starting to get going again. They are still hydrating him orally but have stopped sub-q fluids. He continues to receive antibiotics, daily enemas (which he’s not happy about) and warm soaks along with plenty of exercise around the hospital. His blood work continues to look better each time they run lab work, though all levels are not back to normal where they should be yet. We are crossing our fingers he’ll get to come home soon! My dad found her, 7 weeks young, all by herself, no house for miles. She had to fend for herself for at least a week before he was able to catch her. Now she is mine and she has found herself a big brother and sister in a loving home. And I think the little rascal is happy.

I just realized I haven’t told you guys the news yet...

The hubs and I rescued a new pupper!

His name is Murphy. He’s 4 months old and has had a shit life up until now...now that it’s all unicorns and rainbows right now. He was hit by a car and suffered a fracture in both femurs. He needed surgery to repair both legs but the owners couldn’t afford the surgery and just abandoned him at the clinic. Long story short, animal control got them to sign him over to the clinic and I hopped right on claiming him!

He’s got a long road of recovery ahead of him, at least six weeks of being supported by a sling while walking, but he’s got the best team around supporting and taking care of him. The whole clinic has fallen in love with him ❤️

The sanctuary is situated in a lake town! We are fortunate to be where people come to vacation! 😘 Kamira, one of our forever fosters is vacationing here with her foster family! I adopted this 12 year old cat a couple months ago. I already have an 8 year old cat and a 10 year old beagle, but I saw this guy on the local humane society page and it just broke my heart. 12 years old in the shelter? That’s not okay. So I went to meet him. As soon as I crouched down next to his kennel he shot up and started rubbing all over the cage. I put my head right next to his cage and said “hey big guy” and he stopped rubbing and put his head right next to mine and jus stared at me, purring. I literally got tears in my eyes. I went up front and told them I was interested. They gave me his paperwork to look over and in it I found that he had lived in 1 home for his entire 12 years and the reason for the owner surrendering him was simply “daughter moved away”. My heart hurt for this guy. So I took him home that same day and I haven’t regretted it for a single second. It took all of the animals a while to get used to each other, they’re all old and set in their ways. After a couple weeks though they all learned to live together in peace. Today I’m spending a snow day at home with my fur babies. I’m so glad that he’s spending this time in a cozy bed rather than in a metal cage at the animal shelter.

In case anybody was wondering, all the money that goes towards the commisions is going towards getting me a binder, or two, and helping me get out of this house I am living in. All of it. Unless there's extra money, every single penny is going towards those two things.

On that note, starting tonight (Sat. Aug. 11th) at midnight (Eastern Standard Time), everything on the commision list is half off. Everything. You can do the math. This lasts until next Saturday (Aug. 18th) at midnight. If you have a different time zone, take a screen shot of you typing the message, so I can see the time, and, if it's there, the date. I will not be getting them until the next morning, so you have at least until 10 am (EST) on both Saturday mornings.

I have the right to decline any requests.
