Cetanu the black death
| tip jar |
Naghe-tih clan depiction of Cetanu.
Priestess thinks of Cetanu as a being with peculiar yautja features: his face is split in half, one side is showing a hunter mask and the other the bare skull beneath it.
This is a symbol of how Cetanu is both God of Death (skull side) and the one that judges hunters' souls after their passing (mask side).
Another peculiar traits of this representation is how Priestess will often depict him with a severed head, with a clean cut of the neck.
This is an idea for Cetanu, a Predator death-god. I drew this back in 2005.
There were a whole lot of different ideas about Predator/Yautja culture that came up around the time Steve/Stephani Perry wrote a novelization of AvP: Prey. They wrote in more culture in that one novel than we'd really seen in the entirety of the franchise up to that point. We'd had hints in the Predator movies about deeper motivations, and tidbits in the comics. But then the Perrys come along and flesh out the culture into something reminiscent of Star Trek's Klingons ...with mandibles. That was no bad thing!
I think it was Dave Bischoff who introduced the name "Cetanu" in a later novel. Many of the fans liked this, and lots of different interpretations came out. I went for something that had a bit of Southeast Asian flavor to it, if only in the sense of having many arms dedicated to tasks. (I had all kinds of ideas about culture and gods worked out in a ream of notes, but I'm not going to bore you to tears with fannish gibbering from 20 years ago.)
I made this with ink, acrylic, and gold paint pen.
Very, very sketchy Cetanu while i'm struggling with my internet and ideas
You know forsake, the force you sought out there's no escape... I am your god now.
How would a Yautja react if they meet a immortal human, asking them to help them find death as they don't want to live anymore due to living for so long and wanted peace
Sorry if it comes bit strong, but Yautja are a spiritual like race when it comes to something like life and death, and wanted to asked if they are in that situation
They would be realistically less inclined to help you and more inclined to study you. Especially if your immortality is acquired instead of natural.
(More under the cut for potentially triggering content. Be safe y’all.)
