A fire was crackling in the fireplace. They were sitting in front of it, on a cosy blanket, surrounded by pillows. Ever since Bruce had seen how Talia was resting on the ground, he had been intrigued. It honestly didn’t look as comfortable as resting on a bed, but when he had tried it out, he saw the error of his ways. And so they were currently cuddled up on said blankets, covered and curled up in even more blankets. It was the epitome of coziness.

His chin was resting on her hair and he hummed at her words. For a moment he watched the shadows the flames were casting dance over the furniture in the otherwise, dark room. “It wasn’t entirely me. People can only change if they want to change. I perhaps gave you the nudge you needed, but you came through all by yourself, Talia. You trusted your own judgement, regardless of Ra’s.” And Bruce was very proud of her, just like his tone must be undoubtedly revealing.

     “I don’t..” his words hang at the edge of his tongue, escaping him. Composure loosens with a roll of his shoulders. “I don’t know why you’re here.” he begins softly, measuring her behavior closely with a pointed stare. 

    “I don’t want to accidentally send you out onto thin ice.”

“And why not?” Even though Ra’s was not in front of her she knew that this would send the message he would least expect. He had made a point of influencing not only herself but her sister, too, and she was done playing his games. The league was hers and she would put an end to Ra’s one way or another. “If you think there is any good in me then you’re sorely mistaken.”

“Because... this might worsen an already delicate situation. You’re forcing the League to pick sides and nothing good comes out of that.” And honestly, dealing with one deadly ninja organisation was bad enough, he didn’t want to start juggling two.

“And you are good. At least some part of you is. The part that loves Damian.”
