no its chill and calm forreal i already screamed somewhere else lol.
so firstly, i genuinely didn't except nirei to be able to do much in the fight. but he did something important, where he is the first one to land a hit on suo and draw blood in the wbk series. thats a big thing for wbk which emphasizes on characters communicating through fighting
so we see nirei desperate in the face of suo's cruelty and he finally manages to land a hit on suo
till then it didn't seem like suo was serious but he definitely was not pulling his punches, because of nirei's pure stubborness.
however, only after nirei lands a hit, does suo actually end the fight by a strike that cuts off his airflow instead of the pure hits he was delivering before
once he knocks him out, and theres no one to watch the mask fall off, a glimpse of the real suo comes back i think, where he catches nirei before he hits the ground. he's proud that he landed a hit on him; he's truly happy about his growth, i think.
he wants to cover him with his coat and almost takes it off, but he catches himself; it's too honest and would render his earlier act to be a waste. so he pulls his coat back on
for someone who is trying to become a ghost, leaving something of his behind is impossible. it's too honest, too sentimental. but then a leaf touches his head
and we see the most honest expression in his face in these two chapters. an expression where we cant see his mouth stretched to form a fake, carefree smile, where his eye genuinely looks tired.
even though the wind blows again the leaf doesn't stir. i think it was on purpose, to show how heavy suo's regret is.
i think that pathetic act of leaving the leaf on his head is the only kindness, the only remorse he can truly show his friend especially because nirei won't even realize it.
as to why suo didn't immediately end the fight in the first place and only ended it after nirei landed a hit, i don't know. maybe he couldn't take it anymore so it was a heated in the moment kind of decision.
or maybe he wanted nirei to hit him because of guilt. maybe he thought this was the only form of closure he could give nirei, just like the leaf that strayed to his head.
other than that, i am genuinely surprised, again, that suo injured nirei that much. also seeing nirei plead and ask why so much... it's such a harsh betrayal for him. in the end he still can't believe this suo who is pushing him away, and just asks him to talk to him.
i do want to point out that the penultimate panel i showed is quite similar to the expression he made when nirei brought up sakura because of that little eye scrunch, its not present in any other expression of suo's in the latest two chapters, and the expression itself looks sincere
w the context of ch 211's expression, i think it's a hint of regret in 210, which is much more clear in 211, probably because of his brutal actions and words and the fact that there is no one to see him
idk man. i was actually so nervous for this chapter and it hit hard much worse than i thought, even though i was expecting this.
but i was expecting something, that would let suo be traceable somehow. but this was a clean break. the chapter title "farewell" in japanese translates to something like a very definitive separation, apparently
so w all that i think we're not going to see suo for a long time, and he ll only be reintroduced because of circumstances like conflict or something like that. whatever it is, i dont think the first years, nirei and sakura will be able to find him on their own.
yeah this chapter was pain lol. i dont have any deep analysis or anything, i just wanted to talk about what i personally noticed when i first read the chapter
believe me i wasn't calm at all earlier n screaming lol. i couldn't believe how fast the chapter was done yet there was so much to take in. it's crazy. also i genuinely hope that someone notices nirei and takes him home, poor guy
