i just found there were. more changes made in the translation than i initially realized.

tell me why on god's green earth did the translation in english use this:

Javier's lips trembled. Lloyd noticed that the grandmaster was calling out to him. He could see, hear, and feel his buddy's heart. But there was no turning back.

when in korean is actually something more like this:

Javier’s lips trembled for some reason. He was calling his name. I see it, I hear it, I feel it. Yes, I know your heart. But what can I do?

like. oh my god??? hello????? that is??? a completely different vibe??? what is happening here i'm going insane

Ranma 1/2 complete! I love these big spreads of the characters, and the art in general for these final chapters was fantastic.

The extra Jusenkyo lore and action made for a fun finale, though not as fun as seeing all my favorites again. Shampoo and Obaba, Ukyo and Konatsu, Ryoga, Kodachi, and of course the Tendo family. The Jusenkyo guide having a family was a neat little reveal too.

Overall, Inuyasha is my favorite of the two manga, though Ranma's comedy and central characters were very enjoyable, and worked in so many of the series' zany scenarios.

I have a handful of posts about other parts I enjoyed queued up to post over the next week or so, so this is not my final post about my Ranma readthrough, worry not. Thanks to all who followed along and engaged with my posts for the series. Next up in my Rumiko marathon will be Rinne!

First of all. Lloyd keeping a smile on his face the entire time he's talking to Javier.

Lloyd's eyes became red, even without him realizing it. But he still maintained the smile on his face to put his friend's mind a bit at ease. It was to make him feel a little less guilty.

Lloyd is literally committing to an act that he's been actively avoiding for about 80 chapters, and he's making sure his friend won't be as sad instead. To make who a little less guilty though? Javier for failing his friend, or for Lloyd doing this in front of him?

"If I have to really choose between you and me for this to end once and for all, I choose to banish myself from this world. After all, you really belong to this realm whereas I don't. I came from elsewhere. I am an outsider. This all happened because of my stubbornness and unwillingness to cease to exist."

Lloyd choosing to finally reveal his secret just before his death... I just know this is his way to try and soften the blow for Javier, not just to finally get it off his chest. I'm not who you thought I was, I'm just a cuckoo bird who has taken someone else's nest, it's okay, I'm not actually the count's son. His "stubbornness and unwillingness to cease to exist".... Lloyd. You've worked so hard....

"[...] I really enjoyed my journey with you. This has been the best part of my life, away from the moldy and smelly, tiny room I spent most of my time in. I really, really had a lot of fun."

He had fun. He's been moving nonstop, doing work constantly, but with his friend by his side, he was able to have fun. He had a friend.

"Thank you so much for spending time with me."

I'm gonna explode.

I’m sure Franky’s lines while sobbing over the Franky Family coming for him here are toned down in the English, which is a CRIME, so just so you all know, he’s saying, “You bastards... stupid bastards... I’m not crying!”

(Between this panel and the previous two, he calls them bastards/assholes five times in three panels... he loves them.)

Well the Joji song it's because the lyrics and the situation it's kinda similar in some way, Kageyama and Hinata waited for so long just for this exact moment, they always look for someone to be a good partner but also a rival and idk I'm so emotional rn but anyway.
