Viviana II's Royal Return,

The first appointment on Her Illustrious Majesty's calendar in 2026 was the dismissal of King Philippe as the Ionian Union's King Regent. Photographers gathered in the couple's newly restored joint office at Elisabethplatz to capture the moment Viviana returned from her nearly year long maternity leave.

Viviana II Gives State of the Union Address,

Her Illustrious Majesty, Queen Viviana II opened the Houses of Parliment this past Tuesday with an Address to The Union in review of the previous year's achievements and announced the current government's intentions for the year that will follow. In her speech was announced the Royal Household's intention to restore its historical court postitions, in aide of the government's employment initative. This decision marks Her reign's first departure from that of the policy of Viviana I; whose Household afforded solely office professionals & skilled laborers. Already appointed to the rank of Hofdame were The Queen's cousins, the Princesses Celina and Claire in March. Further appoinments to the Royal Houshold and their rank shall be announced at a later date. Enjoying, already, the privileges of their station, the Princesses were adorned with tiaras from the private collection of Viviana II.

On This Day: Empress Charlotte of Francesim Met With Queen Viviana II Before Addressing Ionian Parliment,

On the 21st day of 2025, Queen Viviana II invited Empress Charlotte of the French for a private audience at Elisabethplatz. The pair toured Her Illustrations Majesty’s newest residence with the IBC ahead of the Empress’ address to Parliament. Elizabethplatz lies on the grounds of Wittmund Palace and is the current seat of the Royal Household. The move was announced not a month prior to The Empress' visit to the Ionian Union. Its public interior remains untouched from the time of its last resident, Prinzessin Imogene. The Empress-Regent addressed Ionian Parliament the following day, in the presence of The Queen & King Philippe. Her Imperial Majesty spoke to our Union on the strengthening bonds between her nation and Iona. Likening, to varying degree of exaggeration, the diplomatic alliance between both nations to that of a covenant.

*The Kingdom of Iona was founded following the marriage of Hana, the Hereditary Prinzessin von Helmstadt to the Grand Duke of Bergstrasse; after the extinction of the Princess's House (Ludwig) in the male line. Their land & territories merged into one Union. Their joint reign came to an end with the death of King Everette (III) in 1982. *Following the the death of Everette (III), Queen Viviana I was elected to the throne. In her constitution, Viviana I renamed the nation to the Ionian Union to honor its establishment and shared identity. The duchy titles were given as wedding presents to Queen Lorraine of Uspana (Bergstrasse; renounced), Prinz Stephan (Helmstadt), & Prinzessin Bernedette (Bergstrasse). *King Philippe is the first cousin of Emperor Napoléon V of the French. His father, Henri, is the brother of the late Emperor Napoléon IV. The Royal Household has made no comment as to King Philippe's non-support intentions for the Ionian Union.
