Reading all the takes about how vampirized Chuuya is going to kill Dazai and then wake up having to face what he's been made to do against his will:

Oda's comment from One Piece Color Walk 2: "I kind of like trash heaps. Sometimes you value stuff that others don't want."

I never realized they were in a trash heap until reading Oda's comment, there's some commentary to be made about the straw hats being outcasts who value each other when society, or their own family, doesn't.

This has gotta be one of my favorite early spreads. The hippie vibes, casual clothes, little details like the broken mirror and Usopp lending his bandana to the owl... Everyone looks so dorky and so cool at the same time. Also, It took me a decade to realize Sanji is stepping on Zoro. He'd be pissed if he were awake.
