Obscure characters that could be a fun character in rivals: Dario Agger The Minotaur (+ some skin ideas related to this guy)
i got ya guys a vanguard option that could lead to some fun
you know the company Roxxon that you see as a background piece in most marvel anything
well in recent years they gained a CEO that kinda stole the show in my opinion (especially with some recent stories) that man being Dario Agger
Also known as the Minotaur (because he can turn into a minotaur)
now i imagine your wondering
how did he become a Minotaur what is his deal etc etc
well heres a bit from his wiki
"Dario Agger was born in Greece to rich parents. He spent most of his life on an island in the Aegean Sea. When he was 9 years old his entire family was killed by pirates. He alone escaped, hid in a nearby cave, and prayed for help. When the pirates found him the next morning his prayers were answered and before a statue of a bull he was transformed into the Minotaur of legend. He decided to keep the pirates heads alive to torture them forever. He used his family fortune to gain the best education money could buy. Dario became the CEO of Roxxon Energy Corp, the wealthiest and most powerful multi-corporation in the world. So yeah this is a proper big corporate villain (as i've noticed that most of the villains they do have so far are either ones who became good or just anti heroes) no proper big villains
and i feel like dario would fit well in that hole (as we are also low on vanguards)
so heres some moves i thought up for him (it will be a mix of his company's resources,his love for money,general bull stuff)
also for some clarification i see him fighting in the game as his minotaur form (perhaps being based on his scarred look from immortal thor since i really like that design)
first one i thought up for him is a bull charge (since its the most generic move you could give this man) mechanicaly i picture it working similar to wolverine's Feral Leap but more ground based (like its literally a bull charge of course you can't go flying in the air with it) perhaps another difference is maybe the move having more distance and perhaps being a bit slower then wolverine's pounce (but still pretty fast)
next move i thought up for him is a trap that works similarly to other traps (idk i don't use traps) but i had a idea of the trap being a literal pile of money
mainly because the idea sounded funny to me and i was kinda inspired by yakuza 0's money throw that was used to distract people (after all if a enemy team sees a pile of money on the floor they will be curious to check it out probably) not knowing what it does or maybe it could be a smoke screen move
another idea is kinda a basic one which is a shield move (probably given to himself and allies) with roxxon's tech that grants people the shields with some bonus HP (tbh i barely had any ideas for this one maybe you can give your takes)
his ULT is also something i havent really got a good handle of (one of the ideas i had was a literal air strike but tbh i don't really have any good ideas for a possible Ultimate)
now after describing some skills he could have i guess i could give you guys a good idea of what he is like as a character
and well i imagine most of the cast would absolutely despise the minotaur with how slimey and ego driven he is
he is literally the embodiment of "Evil megacorp" you'd see in a cyberpunk story dialed to 11 using the large resources of his corporate empire to basically do whatever the hell he wants
i can imagine specific dialogue to hulk and thor would probably reference some stuff from immortal hulk and thor respectfully
i can see him also being a good jab at stuff like the corporations who tried to do this hero shooter idea and failed miserably at it after all he does not give a shit about stuff that need love and effort given to it
he does not see art as art just content
so i can see his dialogue being a mesh of whats wrong with a lot of the industry molded into one person
after all:
he is also a character with bloodlust (which i kinda thought of maybe being adapted gameplay wise and his defeat dialogue kinda like wolverine's berserker rage but i am unsure)
there is also another reason i kinda want this guy
which involves the fact that recently he made a bootleg thor that would actually be a good thor skin
and this idea sparked a idea of "what if the MCU avengers founders had a "Roxxon Presents:" skins"
and tbh the visual of a entire skin line of bastardized version of marvel characters sounds like a fun gag (heck maybe his launch skin is a roxxon presents version of him)
roxxon thor could have this as a MVP
and maybe hulk can get a skin inspired by weapon H (since when the hell will they use weapon H as its literally hulk + wolverine)
anyways i also had a idea of Dario's MVP having him making it rain
maybe with his launch skin's MVP having him literally do the ducktales money dive
since tbh Agger feels like a good gag character while being 100% serious after all dude has this Johnny Cage level Ego about himself and does not view his enemies with any respect
So yeah thats bascially all i had on Dario Agger a character who has become one of my top picks for Marvel Rivals by his cocky slimeball personality and how much hes loving it
and plus he sounds like a fun vanguard option that could have some fun dialogue with the rest of the cast and still be a villain to them
also a team up option he could have is one with enchantress (as a nod to immortal thor) not sure what particular ability he could have but the idea feels fitting
