I should start collecting vintage female Marvel gooner fanstuff when I see it. I mean, Letra Bludsoe's letter is a start but I also vaguely remember seeing other similarly horny stuff on occasion.

Like obviously there's a lot of unseemingly comments made by fans in letter sections towards female characters, duh, comics are super gender skewed. But a female simp, in the letters section, in the year of their Lord 19-something or other? Those are special. Do send them in if you have it.

Honestly this whole comic has been weird. Cap's trying to "discover who Steve Rogers was" but he's talking about his past like he has amnesia (not knowing what his neighborhood was, for example) rather than him trying to re-establish who he is as a person.

Honestly, I am digging this Nick Fury's dialogue. I can quite put my finger on the exact accent/dialect he's speaking, but I'm kinda getting 30s mobster vibes from him.

Nick Fury is speaking in Grumpy Old Man, a vaguely Brooklyn accent-esque dialect found exclusively in 20th century comic books and (I suspect) based off the manner of speaking of Jack Kirby (Brooklyn native) and other New York Jewish old guard comics writers.

Dum Dum Dugan is one of the Howling Commandos. They were a squad of normal humans during WWII who often worked with Cap. They have their own series about them ala The Dam Busters/Hogan's Heroes/The Great Escape/other nostalgic media about WWII featuring a diverse squad of highly competent Nazi fighters. He's Fury's right hand man in SHIELD.

Roy Thomas is given the opportunity to write a filler comic for Captain America and in classic Roy Thomas fashion the entire fucking thing is a recap of Cap's history up until this point. I genuinely don't know what else I expected from the Hack in Chief himself because "recapping old stuff but worse" was basically what his entire run on Thor was. He's so fucking lazy and uncreative I hate him.

Ok so obviously they're supposed to be referring to Hitler here, but it is confirmed canon in the Marvel Universe that Adolph Hitler was burnt to death by the original Human Torch, so therefore, this has to be some other Nazi guy.
