พฤษภาคม 2562: เกโกะ Satsuki (โอกิยะ Tsurui) จากเขต Gion Kobu กำลังถือถ้วยชา (茶碗 : Chawan)

Chawan (茶碗) คือถ้วยชา ที่อาจถือได้ว่าเป็นอุปกรณ์สำคัญที่สุดในพิธีชงชาแบบญี่ปุ่น หากไม่มีถ้วยชา ก็จะไม่สามารถชงหรือดื่มชาได้ ถ้วยชานี้มีทั้งรูปแบบและขนาดที่หลากหลาย ถ้วยแบบก้นตื้นเหมาะสำหรับใช้ในฤดูร้อนเพราะชาที่ชงแล้วจะเย็นเร็วกว่าถ้วยก้นลึกที่ใช้ในฤดูหนาว ยิ่งไปกว่านั้นยังมีการตั้งชื่อให้ถ้วยชาโดยผู้ผลิตเองด้วย

Hishaku (柄杓) เป็นกระบวยไม้ไผ่ที่ใช้ในพิธีชงชาแบบญี่ปุ่น โดยทั่วไปจะถูกออกแบบให้มีรอยต่อระหว่างข้อไผ่ตรงกลางของด้ามจับ กระบวยไม้ไผ่นี้ใช้สำหรับตักน้ำร้อนจากกาน้ำร้อน (釜 : Kama) มาใส่ในถ้วยชา (Chawan) Hishaku ที่มีขนาดหลากหลายขึ้นอยู่กับวัตถุประสงค์ของการใช้และฤดูกาล

"Chanoyu [tea ceremony] takes its origin from the spirit of harmonious union between heaven and earth, and thus becomes a vehicle of peace, a means of preserving order in the world" (quoted by Hammitzsch, pp 66-67). This harmony is none other than the experience of nonduality where the self does not stand apart from, or as it often happens, in opposition to the Other, worrying about its self-preservation and self-gain, but instead experiences itself as being appropriately enfolded into the harmonious "inter-being," to use Thich Nhat Hanh's neologism. In the context of inter-being--that is, seamless interconnectedness and co-emergency of all beings--the self is but a function and a site of receptivity and attunement, of adjusting thoughts and feelings, perceptions and actions to what lies before one. Here is Hammitzsch once again (Ibid, p.69): "One's heart, once it has surrendered itself to [reverence and harmony] in the Zen sense, no longer has any room for any particular object or circumstance, but devotes itself solely to what is in front of it--in the sense of mushin [no-mind]--and thus becomes totally 'gentle and tender', nagoyaka." This gentle and tender mushin --a psychic product of this highly aesthetic activity--is the source of nonviolence and compassion.

以前お茶碗をお貸しした秋乃ろーざさんが茶碗を投稿して下さいました‼ご本人も写真も素敵です‼ #Repost @akinoroza (@get_repost) ・・・ この間 @takabooo0919 さんと会って、素晴らしい作品のお茶碗を貸していただきました。 早速次の日公園でお茶を点てて、友達に写真を撮って頂きました。 このお茶碗の特徴として、土で作られたのではなく、なんと、安山岩です！ 作ってる最中かなり割れやすくて大変な作業らしいです。 大切に使わせていただきます！ The other day, I met with tea bowl artist, @takabooo0919, who lent me his wonderful tea bowl to use. What's special about his bowls is that they're not made from clay but from volcanic rock! The process is quite difficult as the rock is delicate and easily breaks as it's carved. ★ Dec 31, 2017 Ikko-an, Tokyo: matsu-gasane (lit. pine-dressing in layers) ——– ‘Kinton’-type Japanese cake stuffed with chunky-type sweet bean paste 'tsubu-an’ and topped with three sweet adzuki beans and pine needles. ——– Apparently, 'matsu-gasane’ is the name of one of the color combinations – used in the olden days – for 1) layered clothing or 2) the outer fabric and lining of a garment.
