Suppose Cherubimon had tried recruiting Katsuharu, Teppei, Chiaki, and Teruo?
[PLOT CHANGES]
I was actually working on Chiaki's redesign when I saw this lmao. Jumping straight into it, I mentioned earlier how I thought the Spirits should've been scattered around the digital world as undercover-local-protection units, so therefore Cherubimon's forces can't force them into the role like he did with Kouichi. He needs to reel them in somehow.
(One thing that I need to note down here for context sake. I’m planning on making Ophanimon a villain. She uses the whole “Cherubimon capturing her “ as a facade to get Seraphimon off her back. He’s been pressuring her about doing something to stop the multiple cults and uprisings that have been happening lately. The Lucemon followers will have something to do with this, but I’ll explain it in a different post. Important thing is: She’s scheming with Cherubimon, She’s got The Holy Angel digimon’s and Seraph’s trust, and has had contact w/ Lucemon and the Royal Knights. Check ins w/ the Holy Army are regular while she’s in ‘jail’. It makes some mon suspicious, but they’re not listened to. She’s playing double agent basically.)
(Another important thing, Seraphimon is NOT comatose. He’s active and trying to keep a war at bay- y’know that one that’s shown once but never mentioned again- He’s the one who sent the overarching message to the human world, not Ophanimon.)
Angemon is a secret agent sent by Ophani to "watch over" the kids as they collect their respective spirits. “Watch over” as in keep them from having any contact with villages to avoid information spilling and reaching the higher ups. Their message is rigged and they’re told to go to RMS instead of Forest terminal. ( Any Digimon should know that you don't want to head to the Rose Morning Star, and if word gets out that they were sent by Ophanimon, then that will prove suspicions against her.) Once they show up then bada-bing bada-boom, They're at his doorstep with some lovely gifts for his plan, as well as under the assumption that this is where the “good guys” reside, Courtesy of Ophanimon. They’re very easy to corrupt.
[TIMELINE + EXPOSITION CHANGES]
I took the episodes from Toyland to Shamanmon's Temple and made THOSE the filler episodes. We focus on character interactions, worldbuilding, plot hints, and Shamanmon shouts a few prophecies. Not all of them are fight episodes, some of them are, just a nice break in-between all the drama. Beast spirits are NOT in the picture until later. Any episodes that had a corrupt legendary warrior is just a Lucemon follower causing havoc. Similar scenario for any episodes that involved finding a Beast Spirit.
Chiaki's gang appears around the same time as the show, I made a graph because I hate grammar:
Point A
There have been multiple hints from previous conversations with Digimon (Ex: Oh look more humans; things of that regard) JP has added up the hints and is now questioning some Digimon on what they mean.
"Oh yea, there was another group of humans that came here a bit before you. Pretty rude though. They didn’t talk much and just asked us questions."
*collective group silence*
They don't freak out, it's not out of the question, with all those kids that they saw at the ground terminal. But it does get them (Bokomon) hopeful that there are more warriors that they can meet up with. This is VERY important a few days later.
Point B
Everyone from Chiaki’s group has collected their spirits and are whisked away to the RMS, where they're corrupted into the fallen warriors. This happens in the span of about two days.
AS SOON as Chiaki’s group is corrupted, the main group starts to feel a weird sensation. Ringing in their ears, and then a huge spike of pain has them all gasping for breath.( besides Kouji, Bokomon, and Neemon)
They literally have no clue why this happened and are kind of- sort of DEFINITELY on edge again. YOU DON’T JUST UNANIMOUSLY DROP TO THE FLOOR IN PAIN.
Point C
This is the Forest Terminal invasion and first physical appearance of the corrupt warriors. Now spiced up with an all new: reasonable! Strength levels and reasonable! Emotions.
This timeline would give Cherubimon the entirety of the Human Arc and a bit more for his kids to find their human spirits and then wrangle them under his control. He then immediately sends them out to invade Seraphimon for information seeking...or something. But he didn’t count on his group being a bunch of dramatic theater kids + 1 lunatic, so they kinda fucked up their first mission.
SERAPHIMON DOES NOT DIE BECAUSE SERAPHIMON DYING IS BS.
The first meeting and everyone is kind of shook™. The corrupt warriors have no idea what’s happening because they’ve been told limited information, meanwhile the holy warriors are FREAKING OUT because they were not expecting the new warriors to be against them.
One of the element pairs clash and they see a flash of the vessel inside each Warrior, EXACTLY like Kouji and Kouichi. This of course unleashes even more confusion from each side and the fallen warriors retreat in shock to question Cherubimon. Seraphimon gives our main gang the needed exposition for their questions as the whole spirit husk/ vessel/ key code thing is explained, as well as Point B and the clash. Since the groups are divided by opposite elements, Each pair can tell when something upsets the balance between the two of them. Hence why everyone except Kouji was holding their head in pain, they were feeling their opposite buddy being corrupted. The clash happened for similar reasons, only opposite elements can have that experience. Why? Still figuring that out. Seraphimon uses this explanation to give the Holy Squad hope that they can reach and purify the corrupt gang, but it just adds to their stress level lmao. For the corrupt squad, they didn’t even know there were this many warriors, let ALONE that they’re also kids. This causes some conflict and doubt with each other and their leaders
The main thing that this revelation changes is how each side deals with one another. Conflicting emotions about fighting and hurting other kids, trying to find a way to save the fallen side, moral questioning, and THEN ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS DEALING WITH THE EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWNS THAT THE BEAST SPIRIT ARC IS SURE TO GIVE. What am I doing to these kids, honestly. I can't give you anything even general about what I think happens in the Beast arc, since that entire thing is roped around character growth. But the general end-goal would be all of the 10 kids reconciling and kicking the shit out of Lucemon.
[CHARACTER DYNAMIC CHANGES]
Now in contrast to Takuya, Kouji, JP, Izumi, and Tomoki; I believe it's more or less stated that these four other kids willingly came here to get away from their home. Without that attachment to home, or anything digital world related as explained earlier, It makes it VERY difficult to purify them. Also gives me a plethora of potential backstories for those kids to go off of, instead of the empty shells of characters that we got in the show. I want Chaiki to be their "batshit crazy" candidate. A little Wiki told me that Ranamon has an unstable mood, sharp tuition, and was legitimately described as UNSTABLE AND ERRATIC. POOR BABY CHAIKI IM SO SORRY BUT UR IN FOR A RIDE. Then again, she'd also be the easiest to sway back into sanity because of that whole intuition thing. Got nothing except vague ideas for the other three. Purple shirt dude has abuse issues and the dark green shirt dude is a theatre kid. The tan shirt fucker?? I don’t know??
For the opposite element thing:
Takuya and Chiaki (Fire + Water),
Izumi and Teppei (Wind + Earth),
Tomoki and Kastuharu (Ice + Wood),
JP and Mercurymon/ the kid with a green shirt (Thunder + Steel)
Then ofc Kouji and Kouichi (Light + Darkness)
WHY weren’t they paired up by this premise instead of whatever the fuck happened w/ Rana and Fairymon?? Why?? Duskmon is kept a mystery much like the original show, but now we’re pondering his existence and Kouji is kind of worried about the whole ordeal. There will also be a similar plot w/ elements that reflect each other, but this happens during the Duskmon arc w/ Kouichi so you’ll have to wait on those details.
I went on multiple tangents as I always do, I'm sorry. Everything is very Note oriented since I’m still working my Rewrite out, haha. In the very far future I’ll make a very fancy visual board that explains everything, maybe by then I’ll have recording equipment/ animation software and I’ll be able to start my dream career. Who knows? Baby steps for now.
And sorry for the late reply, Anon! To be honest I was just lazy, but if I want to justify it, I didn’t have any inspiration until now. I hope I SOMEHOW answered that in a satisfying way using this whole mess right here.
Also yea take the Chaiki Redesign WIP as an apology:
Chaiki and monomi!
