tmk legend doesn’t have a canon age, but like. i saw ONE (1) fic where he was 15 and that’s really fucking funny to me so.

in reality i’m sure he’s somewhere 17-19, but like.

baby legend. poor old vet. 6 adventures. and he’s FIFTEEN.

with that said tho here’s my (rough, not canon at all (minus wild)) ages for the chain while i’m thinking about it.

time: that man is like. 35-40ish. either that or he’s like 25 and just went grey early /j

warriors: he’s like 22-27 to me, somewhere in that range

sky: sky reads to me like 19-23. i don’t have reasonings.

twilight: twilight also reads like 19-22 for me

wild: wild is canonically 117 so like wii bowl.

legend: like i said, realistically, he’s somewhere between 17-19 probably, but in my heart he’s like 15. (i really like the idea that wild is older than him even ignoring the 100yr nap)

hyrule: i think hyrule is probably a year or two younger than legend, so 15-17ish. i don’t think he’s an adult yet.

four: four is another case where i’ve seen him be both 11 and 24 in different fics and adored both, so four is really a toss up. i think he’s PROBABLY somewhere between 14-20 in reality?? but. 11yr old four is also real to me.

wind: we also know that wind is “almost 14” but i am 100% taking that as he just turned 13 and is HEAVILY rounding up.

More LU Headcanons - Warriors Language edition

It was pointed out in the comments of my last post (here) that Jojo says that Warriors is "slightly multilingual" due to the War of Eras (thank you @alienchickensandcows for finding that for me :D).

Thinking on what that means, here's what I think happened:

It's likely that a pidgin language would have developed during the war, combining the various languages of the visitors, standard spoken Hylian, and the common soldiers slang in Warriors' era (a pidgin language is a "contact language that develops between two or more groups of people that do not have a language in common").

Consequently, Warriors will know a little bit of a lot of languages. If he has a mind for languages, he may be able to understand a simple conversation in one of the influencing languages, though he'd likely have more trouble communicating back.

I still maintain that Warriors wouldn't have had much time during the war to sit down and learn a language, nor do I think he'd have much opportunity after it's over. There's also the additional complication that, depending on how long it's been since the war ended, that he won't be using the pidgin as much and so is likely to forget a lot of it. I usually say it's been 2-5 years between the war and LU for him (17-19 during the war and 21-22 during LU - I'll make a post on ages at some point probably). If you took a language class in school, consider how much you remembered a few years later.

That said, there are definitely words from the pidgin that stuck in his head, that he uses amongst the chain, which completely confuses the other knights who don't know the pidgin. Time almost definitely remembers some of the words, but not all of them. Legend, Wild, Four, and occasionally Twilight will recognise some of the words, which is almost more confusing to them.

I'm a 'Wind went to HW before LU' fan, so he's definitely still fluent in the pidgin. It's only been like 6 months for him. He tends to translate for Warriors when the captain slips into the pidgin when directing attacks against monsters.

(If Wind hadn't gone to HW first, he'd likely be on par with Legend and Wild in understanding it)
