May is ALS awareness month. For those of you who know me, you know why this is very important to me and my family. On July 26th, 2006, my dad passed away after about a year and a half battle with this fatal disease. Words can not describe how heartbreaking it is to watch someone you admire, respect, and love go through such a horrendous ordeal. As the nerves die, the body stops working, however it leaves the brain totally in tact, basically trapping them in their own body. So much attention and research has been brought to this disease over the last couple of years, and I pray to God that scientists at least find a treatment for ALS. As of now there's only one drug available that MAY extend a person's life by only a few months. What that quality of life would be is a different story. Love and miss you Dad every single day. #FightALS #RIPDad #ChallengeALS #ALS #AmyotrophicLateralSclerosis #LouGehrigDisease #alsicebucketchallenge #alsa #fuckALS #walktodefeatals
