Look. Roseanne BEEN racist & a shit-stirrer since before ABC greenlit the revival, & ABC STILL chose to greenlight the revival. ABC did the right thing in cancelling her show, but let’s not act like they didn’t give Roseanne a platform in the first place.

The reality is, ABC, like anyone with the ability to see, hear, and read, knew who Roseanne was when they gave her this show. They wanted to get a piece of Trump/conservative world business. So I'm not going to heap praise on Bob Iger or anyone else at the network. They knew exactly what they were getting..they were just willing to put any concerns/issues aside for the sake of ratings and money. The question is, why was this the limit? It wasn't enough when she called David Hogg a Nazi? Or when she tweeted racist stuff about Susan Rice? Don't think ABC's decision is some turning point. The problems in the media business come down to a major issue few people talk about. As much as there has been a little growth in terms of diversity the people who actually hold power are still a handful of older white men. I call these men the check writers. It doesn't matter how many women/POC executives you have under them, as long as the check writers all remain older white men you're going to continue to have ridiculous programming decisions. I'm sure this tweet will end up on Fox News... But the only way to solve this issue is through diversity in leadership. The same applies to the #MeToo  issue - @shondarhimes is not going to sexually harass and rape her interns. Give [Gabrielle Union] a production deal and you're not going to have to worry about crazy tweets. According to the New York Times, the ABC executive who made the decision to cancel Roseanne is Channing Dungey, the first African-American head of ABC entertainment. Make her a check writer..put her in the CEO position. Enough of the old boys club.
