I know we’ve discussed it already, but I just can’t!

No, I am SO convinced that they did refer to this song! Bc it’s not just the phrase itself, it’s the context of speaking about relationships PLUS it’s “if something feels off”, and Chappell literally sings about that. Probably, my theory that it was the duffers all along who introduced us to the concept of Mike Wheeler being a main character of this song, is not that incorrect!

Since yesterday I shared my drabble on the trope Good Luck, Babe (tiny one, written as meta humor, available here, if anyone is interested 🌚), I keep thinking why and how GLB became our extremely popular fanon so fast? I mean, the song is obviously good, and it’s fitting and all… but why?

Then I remembered that the first place I’ve seen a sad byler edit (done very good*!) with this song was actually… on a tumblr account on Instagram.

*that’s important bc it was supposed to go viral, otherwise it wouldn’t work. and tumblr was supposed to share it officially

That very tumblr that is bylering out now sharing with us euphoriagate. That one that was excited to announce byler becoming a ship of the year. That one that had this sus snake game with a cat. (We never actually found out what it was about?)

What I’m saying is… speaking of meta games players like tumblr, we probably should include Chappel Roan in this line as well, bc no way she makes money on us listening to her song over and over in January, 2 years after release, just bc someone in the fandom noticed that it fits.

But someone… like tumblr (who posts that as soon as 5x08 drops)? Oh I’m sure. How else you notify the most loyal fans what they should listen to:)

(I just mean that probably it was coordinated which song would be used, and she could know that it’d go this way with the fandom crashing out listening to it. But even if it’s not Chappel, that’s for sure tumblr metagating once again)
