Inuyasha comes across as so angry at being told that Kagome really doesn't like Kouga.
But his anger is already fading the longer he thinks about things on his own.
His anger and upset fade so quickly into loneliness and melancholy. Because he does value Kagome as a friend and love interest, and it's his fear and insecurity that makes him act out rashly.
Inuyasha lashes out because caring is a sign of weakness, and he doesn't like being vulnerable in a group of people, even if they are his friends.
When he's alone or one on one, especially with Kagome, his first real friend, he's the sad little boy who just wants to be loved.
