👫 Pluto and Will, because why not

1) In the approximate decade and a half they’ve known each other, Will has saved Pluto’s life more times than either of them can count–typically by silently grabbing Pluto’s collar and pulling him roughly out of the path of whatever projectile being thrown or shot his way. Pluto’s never stopped thanking him, and he never gets anything more than a nod and a grunt in response.

2) The first time Xan was largely dissipated, Pluto took Will home. With no guarantee that Xan would come back, Pluto–who was also shaken, himself–didnt want either of them to be alone. For six hours, Will sat in Pluto’s living room and stared emptily into space. He didn’t eat, or speak, or move–and Pluto just sat next to him, holding his hand and feeling useless. Xan DID come back–grinning widely in a most infuriating manner and asking whose funeral it was, sheesh–and Will and Pluto both threatened to kill them if they ever did it again. But it’s Xan, and they’ve had more brushes with death than anyone else, and it’s become an unspoken tradition for Will and Pluto to wait at Pluto’s house. Hand-holding is optional.

3) Xan is the oldest of the smugglers, but Pluto and Will are both over six feet tall, while Xan is 5'5. Neither of them ever let Xan forget it.

4) Pluto is downright determined to crack Will up someday. It hasn’t gone well, but, as we’re all well aware, Pluto doesn’t give up. Ever.

He uses Dawson as a last name for handling business in the Solids, for “no particular reason”, other than it was Ginny’s last name.Gender and Sexuality: Cis male and panromantic/sexualPronouns: he/him/hisEthnicity/Species: Caucasian shadowBirthplace and Birthdate: 64140th day of the Assignment Reform Era, which correlates roughly to early March, 27 years ago. Funnily enough, this is only two days after Xan. Xan still rubs it in his face :pGuilty Pleasures: Being masochistic and doing things, usually for other people, that are harmful to himselfPhobias: Not being able to protect the people he cares about, losing his only eye, getting strangled (again).What They Would Be Famous For: If anyone knew he was the third leg in that famous double homicide from a few years back, he’d be pretty famous for that. Granted, he’s supposed to have been killed, so it’s not like anyone is looking for him, on that account. The thing he’s more likely to have a measure of fame for now is his skill as an artist–both as a tattooist and a painter.What They Would Get Arrested For: Indecent exposure. Repeatedly and unapologetically.OC You Ship Them With: I had promised that this would be a really long passage–and honestly, it could be–but I think I can pretty efficiently sum it up by saying almost everyone he breathes the same air as. There’s something about his total desperation to be loved and wanted and understood that just bleeds into all of his interactions. It made him go back to protect and save Virginia, prompted his night with Xan and his encounters with Jimmie, his total decency with Elsa, and his ridiculous infatuation with Micah (who, he is very aware, is totally out of his league), which is so severe that he’s pretty much taken an “I don’t care what you think, as long as it’s about me~” approach to it (….it’s one of my favorites :|). The “almost” in that sentence is important, too, though–he values his friendships, and he won’t risk solid ones on something as fickle as most of his relationships end up being.OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Micah Sly. He’ll have it coming, too.Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Pluto, generally, would rather paint than read–his room is almost entirely bare of literature, or anything else, really–but he appreciates the occasional historical fiction every now and again. He also enjoys police procedural dramas, and has subjected Vince to more than one marathon of the various Law and Orders (except SVU–it makes him frowny and grumpy).Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: I’ve been staring at this question for like half an hour and have nothing, ask me later.Talents and/or Powers: His familiar is a cat, and, like all the shadows, he can choose to be solid or not when he crosses over. He’s also got the amazing ability to come up with an innuendo for every situation, and appear self-confident when he isn’t. At all.Why Someone Might Love Them: He will, without any hesitation, give everything for the people he cares for. He’s affectionate and artistic, and paints those he loves in touching portraits. He enjoys making others happy, and his smiles–though often manic or insincere–are warm and contagious. He views the people he loves as above him, and handles them with the utmost care and most gentle touch at all times.Why Someone Might Hate Them: He has no shame, he can be extremely aggravating and assertive, and he’ll do just about anything to get the attention of someone he’s interested in. Because his self-esteem is so low, he also has the tendency to push away the people he cares about, because he’s positive that 1) they deserve better, and 2) they’re going to realize it and leave him, anyway.How They Change: Being locked out of the Shadows prompted a vital shift in his relationship with VInce–he came to understand that their friendship was not, as he feared, rooted in how useful Vince might find him. Eventually, he’ll learn that’s true of all his connections–that he is cared for, in many different ways, by many different people/fae/shadows. Ideally, this, in addition with doing his best to be there for Micah, who has a hard time with being infected by magic, will lend him a healthy measure of self-esteem that he is sorely in need of to maintain any healthy relationship.Why You Love Them: Pluto is amusing and painful, all in one feline package. He’s terrible, and I spend an egregious amount of time shaking my head at him. But he’s also been through so much, and I just. Really, really want him to be happy, whether he likes it or not, dangit. :|
