"I may not have all the answers, but I’m here to listen."(Jasmin Cristal /Sam Winchester)
Sam did some of his best work while sitting on a bench in the park but try as he might -- today was not looking to be one of those days. He had been sat at this very bench staring at his computer screen for what felt like years but in reality had been closer to 20 minutes. Normally when a question came in that he couldn't relate to, he could still easily place himself in the others shoes to see what he would do in the situation but he just couldn't get herself into that place today. He let out a long sigh and looked around the park to rest her eyes from his prolonged screen staring. "If i asked you a hypothetical question, would you be willing to answer truthfully for me?" What harm would getting a little help from others be? after all, his job was to give advice and if he needed to outsource that advice, that's what he should do.

Okay but thinking about Sam and Dean’s different relations to God and belief. Because Sam’s belief is traditional, he believes in this omnipotent spirit that kind of helps sometimes, always has some ineffable plan, very distant. But Dean, when Dean believes it is a bone deep, painful kind of belief, the kind of belief that is born of desperate hope and need, it’s the kind of belief that keeps pushing back, that keeps questioning. Dean can not settle with the idea God exists, he has to keep going, has to try and understand more, he simply cannot decide to let it go if he is going to believe.
She spots him as soon as he walks in. It’s hard to miss the blonde mess of hair atop his head. She watches as he and his family sit down in one of the back pews. Mom. Dad. Him. Little brother. Little sister. She sees them laughing with each other. Hell, they look like the perfect family. And for a second, she’s flooded with envy because, well, she used to have one of those. In any case, she avoids making eye contact like it’s the plague, yet again, reminding herself of what happened last year. She’s not going to make that same mistake. She swears off boys right then and there and it’s a good thing she’s in a church because she needs God as her witness. Her thoughts cease when she hears her mother call out her name in an attempt to alert Quinn that mass is about to start. She swiftly turns her head back in the direction of the altar boys walking down the aisle. Before she realizes it, the priest is droning on and on about a Bible passage she doesn’t exactly care to remember. Frankly, her mind is elsewhere. And every so often, she finds herself glancing back in his direction, for reasons unknown. She thinks at one point she catches his attention, causing yet another blush to creep on her cheeks. She doesn’t know why. He speaks Navi, for God’s sake. But, for whatever reason, all she’s been replaying the last few days is how he complimented her eyes. Speaking of eyes, in the blink of one, the sermon is over and Quinn’s mom scurries over to her friends, no doubt trying to convince them that her daughter isn’t the town slut anymore. The blonde finds herself isolated in her pew, much like how she spent her summer. She takes another risk and glances to the back of the church again. She finds Sam in the crowd of parishioners almost instantly -- except this time he’s as alone as she is. She can’t pinpoint where his family ventured off to, but she soon finds herself standing and smoothing out the wrinkles in her dress. Before she can even think about her actions, she’s reached her destination. “I almost didn’t recognize you without the red shushie in your hair.” She says, greeting him with a small smile. / @astrnts @bstrdsofyng
