How I feel about this character: LOVE OF MY LIFE ACTUALLY MY WIFE. Lucille is my precious trash fire darling; Edith is the one I'm Attracted ToTM. And I find her general MO of crashing ahead with a minimum of caution or forethought so interesting to explore.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Thomas and Lucille. Seldom individually, but if one must be absent, I'd prefer it be Thomas (ie exclusive Edith/Lucille)
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Edith and Alan! Best friends; none braincells. Alan sort of has one, I guess, but I feel like he just disregards it in different exciting ways than Edith does hers.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I think Edith could be better suited to a partially-incestuous triad than she'd like to admit. Her morals are clearly negotiable when they come up against her desires- we saw how quickly "a parasite with a title" became her husband when he was sad and mysterious and pretty (and complimented her writing). And Alan did say "your fascination with the Sharpes" plural, not just Thomas...
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Edith/Lucille canon Activities. Kissing at minimum; ideally more.
For the character breakdown can you do lucas please?
Hi Belle! yes I can <3
Lucas Sinclair
• How I feel about this character
I have such a soft spot for Lucas and he’s such a comfort character to me. He’s just such a good friend and he can do no wrong. He would be so good to talk too especially about like feelings and troubles because he tries to understand and when he doesn’t, he’ll ask so he could. he deserves so much love. 🥺 I want to buy the Lucas On The Line book so badly. It’s on my book list.
• All the people I ship romantically with this character
Max, Will and Dustin
I am such a multi-shipper and I’m usually open to ships (unless it’s a huge notp for me or problematic) but tbh Lucas ships in general are superior— I can easily get pursued into shipping another. Like how does one not multiship with him? I mean Lumax? They’re so in love and so good for each other. I honestly didn’t ship them until s4 but like they became such an otp so fast for me and like rewatching after s4, they were so cute 🥺 Byclair? I get so soft over them and the more I talk about them, the more I get feels. jock/artist ship that are also big nerds? Yes pls. They’re just precious and mean so much to me. Henclair? They’re just cute and I may not think about them often but when I do, yeah I get feels and just they’re such a good ship. I love them.
• My non-romantic OTP for this character
EL MY BELOVED
Oh my god. I just love platonic Hopclair so much. It’s about the way Lucas went from being hostile because he thought El was going to replace Will only to care so much for her and become friends with her. I just love them and I think they developed so well into a friendship. I absolutely expect Hopclair in season 5 to be so close. Especially since they both lost Max. Speaking of which, the idea of Elumax with Platonic Hopclair?? PEAK. Yes they share a girlfriend while being best friends your honor.
• My unpopular opinion about this character
I have no idea if this is unpopular anymore but like, I remember hearing a lot of hate on this. Lucas playing basketball and wanting to not be seen as a loser? Absolutely understandable. He just wanted an easy life and that’s so hard for him, especially in the 80s. I genuinely don’t blame him at all and he looked so happy out there too.
• One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon
Honestly, I wish they were more explicit on the racism that Lucas experiences. Not like slurs— I hated when they had it in season 1 and I’m glad Dacre didn’t say any because there’s more ways of showing racism without that but, like maybe if we saw more scenes from other characters in which it paralleled to Billy’s behavior towards Lucas, it wouldn’t get misinterpreted as “Big Brother Protectiveness” because it definitely isn’t. Billy targeted Lucas and only him. He didn’t attack any of the other party members, he attacked Lucas. Lucas struggles with racism every day and it’s clear to see with his behavior, how he acts in season 1 when around cops and in season 2 when he’s like “you were thinking it” to Mike. Yet the one time we actually see it not from Lucas’ behavior, people be quick to defend Billy and not acknowledge it for what it is. I don’t think Dacre helped with that either when he denied it back during season 2 interviews. I have no idea if he acknowledge it since then but, if he did, I feel like it would be ignored. I hope to god this doesn’t come across as problematic because this mostly stems from the amount of times I’ve rewatched recently.
For the character breakdown, I’d like Mary, Iris and/or Iluka
Hehe, Mary's been a popular request – I actually have a couple more in my inbox asking for her. I haven't played the first Story of Seasons, and I don't have any of the DLC from Pioneers of Olive Town, so I don't really know enough about Iris to have much of an opinion of her. I do think her design is beautiful, and I like that she's an older-looking bachelorette. I have played Trio of Towns, and I really love Iluka! ;)

How I feel about this character
I feel like Trio of Towns did twins right. They're very distinctive from one another and they each have their own personality. There's even a bit of sibling jealousy/rivalry in that Iluka is frustrated at her own short fuse and wishes she were a little more chill like her sister. I haven't unlocked Tsuyukusa yet, but when I unlocked Lulukoko, I was thrilled with the cast. Iluka stood out in particular. She has similar vibes to HM64 Karen to me, which is a good thing – she's very confident and strong-willed, but she does have her insecurities that round out her character. I would say she's my favorite bachelorette in the game so far, and I really like how her love events unfold. <3
All the people I ship romantically with this character
I really miss the rival system in the newer systems, but it does make the ideas for writing/shipping a lot more open. I've seen some really cute characters paired together I never thought of.
Iluka x Wayne – I feel like there would never be a dull day with these two – lots of fun chemistry to be had. I'm pretty sure that Iluka's presence would finally make Wayne's “fan club” back off – I can see her sticking up for him and maybe even helping Wayne stand up for himself a little better.
Iluka x Komari – Again, I haven't unlocked Tsuyukusa, but I feel like Komari's bubbly, perky personality would mesh well with Iluka's. They give me Karen x Ann vibes <3
Iluka x Farmer – I genuinely really like Iluka's love events and I adore that she grows and quickly sheds that tsundere mask right away. With the farmer, she is able to be herself and be liked for who she is.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Iluka/Siluka/Ludus – I love the twins taking on Ludus as another sibling. They have fun chemistry, and I feel like there's a lot of interesting history with them. I do remember the girls bossing around Ludus a little bit, but I haven't played for a long enough time to see if that changes.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I get the impression that Iluka is a very divisive character, but I really like her, and I really appreciate that the writers showed her insecurities. When I first started playing, I was a little disappointed that her design is so similar to Siluka's, and even that their names are so similar, but it's grown on me. The fact that they're both priestesses makes sense for their similar outfits. I do wish their hair was a little different from one another's, but that could be chalked up to a traditional priestess hairstyle.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Again, I'm not that far into Trio of Towns, but I look forward to there being more events with Iluka. I guess I'm just looking forward to seeing what else happens with her in the game. The main thing I wanted her to do in canon already happened – coming clean about her behavior during the earlier love events.
I think it would be fun to show more characters from the different towns spending more time together. That might happen once the third town is unlocked. It would be cool to see them travel to the different town and hang out with the other characters.
Thank you so much for the ask. I'm sorry it's not as in-depth as most of my other ones, as I haven't played a ton of Trio of Towns. Thinking about Iluka does make me want pick my file back up, though. I'll definitely have more opinions on Mary, as I've seen many incarnations of her throughout the series. Thanks again! :)

For the Character Breakdown, I'd love to see your thoughts on Kai. <3
Thank you for asking ❤️
●How I feel about this character
Again, I'm going to go with FOMT Kai, since I've got no experience with the HM64 or BTN versions.
I've always enjoyed his character. I love the fact that he's racially diverse from everyone else in town, and I think characters like Kai (and Greg) pioneered the way for other non-white characters to appear in later games. I wish there were more BIPOC characters in Bokumono titles, but at least that is an area Marvelous are improving in.
As for his personality, he is such a fun character! I love his laid back attitude, his wholehearted support of his friends and the fact that he's actually a really hard worker, despite the fact that many people think he's lazy.
●All the people I ship romantically with this character
Kai x Popuri is a given. They're so happy together, and adding in Rick as the 3rd wheel just makes the whole dynamic so entertaining.
I also really like Kai x the farmer. The fact that he's willing to move to Mineral Town permanently for them, despite his intense dislike for the cold, is just so sweet. Plus he totally respects and supports the farmer from the moment they meet.
●My non-romantic OTP for this character
Kai x Gray. These two strike me as the ultimate bros. They've got each other's backs, come what may. Also, Gray's one of the only guys in town that is willing to openly befriend Kai, and I don't get the feeling that it's just to go against his Grandpa/the other men.
●My unpopular opinion about this character
Kai is totally a pineapple-on-pizza person (oh wait, that's his unpopular opinion...)
●One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
MORE EVENTS! I'll probably scream that for every single character, but I want more interactions between Kai and other townsfolk. We're told the other men in town dislike him, but we really only see that with Rick. Manna tells the player about how Kai painted his Snack Shack bright white, much to Gotz chagrin, but I wish there were more events like that.
Have Zack be wary of Kai spending time with Popuri, because he doesn't want Lillia to get hurt. Have Thomas worry that this 'cool dude' might encourage all the young people to leave town in search of adventure. Have Jeff fretting himself sick that Karen will elope with Kai, even though she's never shown any interest in him.
Thank you for this beautiful ask (read: an opportunity to gush about Arjun :P) Here you go:
Arjun
How I feel about him: Arjun is a man known for his deeds. Even children here would have heard of his feats. However, it is the man behind the feats that mesmerises me. The warrior beyond compare who felt and felt true. The man who faced whatever came his way with his head held high. The introvert who could calmly fight life and come out of it with flying colours. The son and the brother who was one of a unit. The ideal student, whose determination and persistence is an inspiration.
People I ship romantically with him: Subhadra and Draupadi.
Non-romantic OTP for him: The three Krishnas are the canon OTP. Arjun, Krishna and Draupadi. I also love speculating about his relationship with Satyaki, another Yadava who was earlier a bosom friend of Duryodhana’s, Ashwatthama, who’s Dron’s son, and Sachi, as Indra’s wife, but the OTP is always the Three Krishnas, along with Satyabhama and Subhadra.
My unpopular opinion about Arjun: Firstly, I think he respected women. The relationship between Arjun, Draupadi, Krishna and Satyabhama definitely portrays him as someone who has no qualms treating women as equals, as they should be. Another aspect about respecting women is his marital relationships. What I feel is that we do not know enough of the culture of ancient India to think of what polygamy/polyandry was seen as back then. It is futile to see it through the lens of modern morality, because the lens of modern morality does not apply to the men and women of Mahabharata.
As for Arjun/Subhadra, her consent is implicitly given. Seriously, I don’t think any woman would go smiling to her kidnapper, which is how she is described when Arjun takes her with him. That form of marriage is culturally acceptable, and she’s reportedly delighted with him.
So yes, I think Arjun and Krishn respect women.
The second is that I feel the whole ‘Krishn’s follower/puppet’ idea really does a disservice to what I see Krishn and Arjun’s friendship as. I see them as equals. Arjun has victories of his own without Krishn, Krishn has victories of his without Arjun. They were close enough that neither wanted to live on without the other, but that doesn’t mean, in my eyes, that one was basically the other’s puppet, or couldn’t do anything without the other.
One thing I wish would have happened in canon: Arjun speaking against the Dyuta Sabha. Yes, he does speak up for Draupadi when she objects, but there’s a reason I think excess obedience is Arjun’s flaw. If he had spoken against it, a lot of things would have changed.
Ned Stark
How I feel about him: I used to absolutely love him, but on rereading, his dynamic with Sansa is one I feel terrible about on Sansa’s behalf. He tends to hold others to far higher standards than his own self, and that makes him really judgmental, which is a trait I really don’t like (perhaps because I’m a tad bit judgy myself).
Another instance I don’t excuse him in is the incident with Jaime, but that, I have spoken about at length.
Anyway, his tendency of holding others to higher standards is something I find hard to empathise with.
All the people I ship romantically with him: …no one, I think?
My non-romantic OTP for this character: with Robert Baratheon and his siblings.
Unpopular opinion about him: He’s not as perfect as he seems to be. He has his flaws, most notably his glaring inability to adapt to circumstances or to see things in any other lens except his own narrow one.
What I wish had happened in canon: I wish he’d been a better father to Sansa, a better husband to Catelyn.
How I feel about this character: I love her so much I am chewing drywall about it
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Thomas and Edith. Usually together, but I can also enjoy exploring pre-canon exclusive Sharpecest and sometimes exclusive Edith/Lucille.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Hear me out- I feel like papillons are very smart and if the dog figured out that he needed to be quiet and calm around her like a packmate who's been mistreated...they might be able to come to an Understanding. Papillons are also known to hunt rats, after all. She might appreciate not having to worry about vermin eating their food.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I just don't see her getting into creative tortures or murder methods. I think she gets a rush out of having power over life and death, and feels no remorse for what she's done, but still considers murder a distasteful periodic necessity- she really just wants to be left alone with her piano and her books and butterflies. And Thomas (and maybe a pretty lady, much as she might try to deny that last one).
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Canon Edith/Lucille!
How I feel about this character: There is so much wrong with her (affectionate)
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Theo. They can make each other better AND worse! Also maybe Hill House, not gonna lie. Can you fuck a sentient house? She will find out perhaps. (That too would be sapphic, to be clear.)
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Don't have one
My unpopular opinion about this character: I think Nell's Disney Princess-ness is often underexplored. She's so innocent in many ways and all her dreams for her life are very fairytale. She's a heroine in an Andrew Lang book who accidentally ended up as psychic victim of family abuse in the 1950s, and I'd like to see people delve into that more.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Just like the previous ask, Make The Gay Canon, please!
