Tips for Writing an INTP in the Narutoverse
(From an INTP’s perspective)
(Also if you have any questions about how an INTP would behave in a certain situation or with someone, please just let me know! Id be more than willing to offer some insight into our thoughts and actions:) )
Personality:
•Probably a Nara or at least mistaken for one (the intelligence and laziness).
•Daydreams a lot which some people may find disrespectful (teachers at the academy, hard ass shinobis)
•May come off as apathetic and disrespectful but we really just dont understand things like why should we respect you just because of your position? Why are you so focused on crushes when there is a constant war? Etc.
•Does things to make people angry because they are bored and find it amusing (we are also really good at it because we know exactly what to do/say to get reactions out of people we have studied)
•Trying to think ahead but the possibilites of the future are endless. Despite this we are good at predicting what will happen based on things we’ve noticed before.
Specialization/skills:
•Because of our intelligence, laziness, and creativity, we would probably specialize in genjutsu or fuinjutsu.
•Genjutsu because it requires little effort and it offers so much room to get creative (i really think the possibilites of this field are over looked).
•Fuinjutsu because... come on... its basically like coding for a computer. So many possibilities that we would use to our advantage (once again the possibilities for this are endless. A lot of people have their oc’s specialize or at least dabble in it but i personally believe most of the time they dont use it to it’s full potential).
•Would make sure to at least know the basics of medical jutsu because literally everyone should.
•We would keep our skills under wraps and draw as little attention as possible to ourselves because having the element of surpise is always an advantage.
•Most likely in intel or assassination
In battle:
•”Get this over with as quickly and efficiently as possible” attitude.
•Calm and a completely blank mask with a lazy (but aware) posture.
•Completely silent unless asked a question by a comrade (why do people insist on talking so much during battles. The only reason they do is to get an opponent riled up or scare them which doesnt really effect us).
•Staying near the back of a group during a fight because we know that we would just be wasting energy when we could whip out a seal or complicated genjutsu to just get it over with.
Looks:
•No flashy/memorable clothing. Something practical that would make us blend in.
•You can often times find us with a smirk and an unfocused look in our eyes while we constantly are thinking about random stuff.
•Almost constantly scrunched eyebrows although we never notice it because we’re so deep in thought.
•Paler skin from being inside because there really is no reason to be out unless training.
•(if female) keeps hair long for the ability to look like an unsuspecting civilian but keeps it tied up into a bun for practicality.
Thoughts on other shinobi:
•Hates shinobi like Jiraya who flaunt their skills so everyone knows just to make him look cool (but now the enemy has an advantage and is coming up with a plan to counteract the skills he knows you have... so good luck with that)
•Naruto Uzumaki: annoying and loud so we dont really like him. He interupts class time for loud comments that are unnecessary which is extremely annoying. However, we respect his cleverness when it comes to pranks and such. Also, we respect him for still being so kind despite constant bullying (which we dont understand because its not like the boy is possessed and acting under the control of the kyuubi)
•Sasuke Uchiha: clan pride is stupid so that immediately puts most Hyuuga and Uchihas at the bottom of their list. We would also think his revenge plan is a bit stupid but we would never tell that to his face because we wouldn’t want to disrespect them (but if a condescending smirk and quirk of the eyebrows is aimed at him from time to time, you cant blame us)
•Sakura Haruno: little to no respect. A bully who is loud and not fit for a fight. Thats really it. We may try helping her but after realizing she won’t cooperate, we give up. She gets angry at us because we often will pretend to not have heard what she’s saying (it’s amusing to us to see other people lose their cool).
•Kakashi Hatake: a lot of respect. Good shinobi who is still functioning after loads of trama. We love his dry and sarcastic sense of humor. His professionalism is admirable although his respect for the higher ups is a bit much. We might freak him out because he is interesting enough to grab our attention. As soon as we notice him our dazed eyes focus and sharpen on him and you can just see the gears in our head turning.
