Ava smoothed over her pastel punk dress and tucked a curl behind her ear. She gave herself a once over in the mirror and finally nodded with a curt smile. Perfection or as close to as she could get. Sandro was still sleeping. It was early after all. She slipped from their bedroom and made her way downstairs. Once in the kitchen she first prepped the kids lunches along with Sandro and set them all in a line on the kitchen counter. With that out of the way she made a hearty breakfast that she told herself they would all eat together this morning. 

When the kids cam trampling down, running late and grabbing their lunch bags and Sandro hurried behind them, she didn’t frown. When they each grabbed a piece of back, slice of toast, or handful of fruit before they kissed her goodbye and hurried out the door, she didn’t frown. She simply shrugged and began packing up the food in disposable containers “I will simply deliver to the local shelter.” She said out loud to herself as she slipped her heels on.
