Okay, boys, girls, demons, ghouls and JSE Fiends! I’m back with another theory! This time it has to do with the Chase Video that was uploaded a few days ago (October 13th).
TW: Spoilers, Mention of Depression, Mention of a lost love one.
So in the beginning we start off with Chase getting evicted. Now, this can be for several reasons (not going to go into a lot of details right now, that will be for another theory). But as @egopocalypse has mention in her theory, the case number and the date on the eviction match the dates to Dark Silence and to Marvin’s Birthday.
Then we see Chase go to his car. the car, and then we see Chase in his car but he’s not alone. Sean has confirmed that this is Anti! However, I’m not sure if he’s making eye contact with us (the Community) breaking the fourth wall as he loves to do or if he’s just seeing if anyone else can see him.
Chase starts looking through his glove box, we see a bottle of whisky there but then he pulls out a photo. And that is when Chase starts to loose it. Everything piled up so much, that he can’t help but scream.
Chase starts driving off, we see a beautiful scenery of woods. Now, this is where all credit of this theory goes to @turquoisemagpie for pointing this out and also to Everyoneprotector on the JSE Theorist Hell Discord.
Now, I don’t know if Sean as ever gone camping, but he did used to live in a Cabin in the woods and he’s told many stories about how Ireland is perfect for hiking and camping and is surrounded by farms, wildlife and woods. So, I think it’s safe to assume that he might have gone camping or at least has done a lot of hiking.
The reason why bring this up is b/c this screenshot (above) a cairn. Now on the JSE Theorist Hell Discord Server, Everyoneprotector pointed out what a cairn is and in the UK what they do symbolize. Now, I’m not taking anything away from them. They did a lot of research, and made some very good points in their theory.
But I do have to point out a few other things. One, I did use to camp when I was younger, here in America, cairns are what Hikers, Campers, and Hunters use as markers for marking their trails so they don’t get lost. Or if they do somehow get lost, then they can easily find their way back to the trail.
However, cairns are also used as a Memorial Marker. For when Hiking, Camping, or Hunting accidents. The fact that Chase knew where this cairn was and it’s near a camping ground. The fact that he was screaming, and crying, no after seeing the photo. This tells me that quite possibly, one of Chase’s kids, maybe his oldest son, was killed in a camping or hiking accident.
The reason why I say possibly oldest son is because Chase has said his kids, and always talks about his daughter, but never his son. And several members of the Community has pointed out and said that kid in the photo is a boy.
Then things get a little weird. Chase was sitting on a rock and was drinking, then he is “teleported” to another location. He’s so confused and doesn’t know where he is. This next part of the theory all credit goes to @turquoisemagpie for pointing this out!
Chase starts searching himself. He sees no bottle of whisky but he also notices another thing when his hand goes to his pocket. No, phone!
When Chase is at the cairn, he takes the photo out of his back pocket. Right, there in the front right side, is bulge of a phone.
Chase turns around and see that he’s in a city and doesn’t know where he is.
Now, there is some speculation, especially after Sean, liked the one theory on Twitter that Marvin transported Chase. I asked @septic-dr-schneep what her thoughts might be and I have to agree with her. I think it was both Marvin and JJ teleporting Chase!
Here’s the reason why I think that. I think the setting was suppose to be in Ireland (not LA) and the reason why I think that is b/c Sean grew up in Ireland. He hiked and lived in a Cabin in the woods. When he moved to his new apartment in Ireland, he always said how much wildlife and wood area there is in Ireland. He also confirmed that Chase did a lot of nature hikes. So, Chase lived in Ireland, went back to visit the Memorial Marker on the anniversary.
And why I think it is both Marvin and JJ, that teleported Chase. We control canon more the canon. Several us, write, head canon, theorize, and drawn, Marvin as a magician! Whether it’s like Marlin/Harry Potter kinda magician or the flashy slight of hand, Harry Houdini/Chris Angel kinda magician. The place that he can easily do all that be successful is either Los Angles or Los Vegas as a headliner.
The reason why I think JJ might have helped too is because Chase didn’t have his phone with him when he got teleported. Now, depending on the time frame JJ’s from, cell phones weren’t invented! Cars were and many brands have been around for over a hundred years. This can be the first meeting of Chase and Marvin or Chase and Marvin and JJ!

We might have gotten some context for the “Where are they, what do you want from me?” in Dark Silence.
If Stacy and at least one of Chase’s kids are dead, as indicated by the cairn, then did Anti kill them? That might seem like the obvious answer, that Anti took Chase’s family and killed them, and Chase was asking where they were in DS.
But, what if Dark Silence all took place inside Chase’s mind? What if Anti erased the memories of Chase’s family, or what happened to them? Jack did reblog one post after Dark Silence saying that the green light was so bright it could “erase your memory”.
Chase can’t remember where his family is, they’re lost to him. Sean did caption that one instagram post of Chase with the word “Lost”, so what if that’s referring to his memories of his family?
Jack also liked a post on Twitter theorizing that it was Marvin that teleported Chase at the end of his video, and I’ve seen people theorizing that Chase was teleported back into a memory, so what if Marvin is trying to help Chase regain his lost memories?
Sorry if this doesn’t make a lot of sense or is badly worded, I’m still processing that video XD
