APPARENTLY CHEMISTRY IS ILLEGAL NOW
Somewhere along the way, people started acting like a strong woman noticing a man is attractive means the patriarchy just kicked the door in wearing cologne.
Relax.
Nobody is asking her to faint on a couch and forget how doors work.
She can still have a sword.
She can still have a job.
She can still have trauma, ambition, powers, standards, enemies, boots, and a full emotional interior.
She can also look at a man and briefly lose access to the English language.
That is not oppression.
That is a pulse.
Modern writing keeps confusing female strength with romantic sterilization.
As if a woman becomes more powerful the less she wants.
As if desire is some embarrassing software bug that needs to be patched out by committee.
No.
A woman can be dangerous and flustered.
Brilliant and horny.
In control and still annoyed that some beautiful bastard just made her nervous by standing there breathing incorrectly.
That is not weakness.
That is chemistry doing what chemistry does: humiliating everybody with a nervous system.
The problem is not romance.
The problem is that too many stories now treat attraction like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
So everything gets scrubbed.
No longing.
No heat.
No “I hate him, why is he ruining my blood pressure?”
No moment where the heroine’s face betrays her before her ideology can call security.
Just clean, approved, emotionally laminated empowerment.
And then studios wonder why the movie feels like it was written by a panic room.
A strong woman wanting a man is not offensive.
It is human.
Mother Nature is not clutching pearls over it.
You are.
And honestly, that says more about your wiring than hers.
