Indulge in the delightful combination of creamy homemade frozen yogurt and the sweet-tartness of sour cherry jam. This easy-to-make dessert is a perfect treat for hot summer days or anytime you crave a refreshing and fruity frozen dessert.
Ingredients: 4 cups plain Greek yogurt. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup sour cherry jam. 1/2 cup fresh or frozen sour cherries, pitted and chopped. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: The Greek yogurt, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt should all be mixed together in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients together and stir them until the sugar is gone and the yogurt is smooth. Cut up the sour cherries and add them to the yogurt along with the lemon juice. Follow the manufacturer's directions and pour half of the yogurt mixture into an ice cream maker. Churn it until it becomes soft-serve consistency. While the first batch is making a froth, mix the sour cherry jam with the other half of the yogurt mixture. When the first batch is done, put it in a container that can go in the freezer and use a spoon or spatula to mix in the sour cherry jam mixture. Keep mixing the second batch of yogurt until it has the same soft-serve consistency as the first. Mix the second batch with the first batch by swirling them together in the container. The frozen yogurt should be frozen for at least 4 hours, or until it is firm. Add a little more sour cherry jam to the top of your homemade frozen yogurt and enjoy!
