A concept: transmasc/transfem boob exchange. Transmasc people give their unwanted boobs to transfem people.
I don't think you should wear a binder, it's very damaging to your ribs and can complicate your top surgery in the future! It's okay to be trans nb without binding! I'm a nb woman and I love having my giant melons (J cup) on display all the time and this still doesn't make me any less gender non conforming or any less nb! It gets me misgendered often but I don't pay it much mind since I'm a she/her nb, sometimes they/them.
Point is its okay to have breasts and be proudly nb! 😊 💛🤍💜🖤
It’s totally great and cool to feel like you don’t have to/don’t want to bind and it definitely doesn’t make you or anyone else less Nb (or trans guys less of guys for that matter)! But a lot of people myself included feel an extreme amount of chest dysphoria and feel very uncomfortable when not binding, especially in social situations. While binding CAN be unsafe there are a lot of ways to decrease risk and make it safer, like choosing a good quality binder that fits right and not binding for long hours (over 8 hours). All in all it’s very important to do your research so you can be as safe as possible! It might be difficult to understand the compulsion of needing to bind if you yourself don’t experience it, especiallyknowing the fact that it can be harmful if not done properly but it’s complex I suppose! Everyone experiences Gender dysphoria and euphoria in different ways. :)
is sports bra a good replacement for binder
how to deal with the waiting because the binder you really want is out of stock in your size
how to ask my mom for a binder
I know that anon probably wasn’t trying to purposefully be harmful but spreading misinformation like that, whether intentional or not, is still a garbage thing to do. My therapist who works with doctors to specifically help trans youth says it’s fine so long as you’re safe with it. Literally every official site I’ve seen says it’s fine so I have no idea where anon got their info
I don’t think the anon had any malicious intent but I agree that her info seems to be a bit skewed. Years ago it was a LOT more popular for people to bind with ace bandages, duct tape and poorly made clip binders due to them not being as easy or cheap to find. Now thanks to the accessibility of the internet and bigger company’s popping up it’s a lot easier and safer to bind as long as you don’t push yourself. it’s possible the Anon just wasn’t as versed in binder safety because they themselves don’t bind (the risk does also go up depending on chest size so it could be that as well). Basically I answered that ask to make it clear to her and anyone else nervous that binding IS safe when done properly, but I’m not upset with her, she just seemed concerned :)
