"The only problem with us is us" aka idiots+enemies to lovers

Teh/Oh Aew: They are the embodiment of this trope honestly. I dont think anyone needs an explanation with them.

Chian/Fourmod: Oh my dear babyboys. They may not be enemies, but they definitely are idiots and have at many points of time experienced hate towards the other (ok maybe just Fourmod towards Chain).

Saint/Shin: "Oh let me beat my "best friend" up because the rules i fucking made said so, then break his leg and also disappear on him for years while he suffers." "Oh let me forgive my "best friend" who broke my fucking leg because the rules he fucking made said so, even though it led me to have to give up on my dream. Also the person i loved the most- the best friend- left me for years to suffer alone." (Yes i do love them)

"We Looked The Universe In Its Eyes And Decided It Was Time We Rewrote Our Fates." aka Starcrossed lovers

Pat/Pran: one could argue that they are also enemies+idiots but the thing is that they never truly hated each other. Their bond was made of mutual respect for fuckery and banter. There was never real hatred from them. Idiots tho, they still are.

Haoren/Chihiro: life could not have gotten worse. There is literally nothing else that could have gone more wrong for these two. And yet.

Puen/Talay: it wasn't even just one, two whole universes were after them. They fell in love with each other, and stayed that way despite never having actually seen each other and being apart for years with very slim chances of reuniting.

"You couldn't get rid of me if you tried" aka attachment/abandonment issues

Vegas/Pete: These two don't even need a paragraph to explain. They fit each others sharp edges, breaking a few corners and hurting a few ridges- but they fit. They make it work. They make each other work. They make each other breathe.

Fadel/Style: Again no explanation needed- no matter how much Fadel could cry, yell, sulk, throw every tantrum on the planet about it- Style is not leaving. Not now, not ever.

Tan/Fang: Nobody does reassurance like Tan does, nobody does reciprocation like Fang does.

GELBOYS สถานะกั๊กใจ (2025) dir. Boss Kuno

honestly, “gelboys” is simply a masterpiece, and i will never stop talking about it because there are no right or wrong actions, no right dialogues. sometimes, there is no joy or happiness at all. friendships are destroyed for the sake of relationships, and relationships are destroyed for the sake of friendships, and then everything falls apart together.

there are many tears, so much pain, but at the same time—an incredible amount of love, happiness, and support.

there is real, genuine friendship, the fear of losing the people closest to you, the first crush, awkward touches, the inability to express feelings, fears, detachment, attachment, anxiety.

and all of this is what surrounds or has surrounded us in our teenage years, what each of us, unfortunately, has to go through on the path to understanding ourselves, the people around us, and our lives.

sometimes, we fall in love with the wrong people. sometimes, we unknowingly destroy what is most valuable to us. sometimes, we make terrible mistakes because we love. sometimes, we are scared.

but all of this is what makes us human. all of us, completely different—sometimes incompatible, sometimes sad, or, on the contrary, happy.

sometimes, for someone, our happiness is pure sorrow—not because they hate us, but because they might have wanted to be our happiness but never could.

this show wasn’t created to make money or gain views. in reality, there’s nothing special about it, except that it is real, without a drop of fantasy or fiction.

it is what it is, and if you really think about it, all of us, in one way or another, are characters in this story.

some will see themselves in chian—the one who hopelessly loved someone who never loved him back. who tried a thousand times to move on but never could. who only hurt himself more and those around him.

some will see themselves in fomode—the one who loved someone still trying to find himself. who dreamed of being chosen but always remained a second option. who held on to hope even though he knew chian’s heart didn’t belong to him but to his doubts and fears.

some will see themselves in baabin—the one who never found the courage to confess his love to his best friend. who watched silently, hiding his feelings behind a smile, afraid that the truth would change everything. who endured the pain because staying close was better than risking everything and losing him forever.

there are those who will see themselves in bua—the one caught between two fires, unsure of where to go. who hesitated, got lost in his own emotions, unable to understand what he truly wanted. who took steps forward, but every choice only hurt him more.

but a part of this story is in each of us, even if you’ve never watched it and never will.

and that’s why i am endlessly grateful to boss kuno for such a raw and real story. even though it turned out to be painfully heavy, it is honest, and that is what makes it truly special.
